Hi! Congratulations on your acceptances!! i know several people in the SLP program at McGill. Ive heard its extremely theory based. Also If you do not speak french, it may be difficult to find a placement. i didnt get accepted into Western but ive heard great things, specifically the clinical placements. I also heard that western is less focused on the theory and more focused on hands on experience (which is amazing!) Goodluck with your decision, I know its not easy

Congratulations to everyone who received acceptances, you should be so proud of yourselves, i know it has not been easy! i was rejected from western, ottowa and toronto and have yet to hear from mcgill. im really shocked by this, its my 3rd time applying, i have worked as an SLPA for the past 2 years at a school for neurodiverse children and at a private clinic, not to mention other great experiences like working in a hospital and volunteering. I received great reference letters, got 4th quartile in casper, wrote an amazing letter of intent, 3.65 gpa in a biology undergrad at concordia, i had also written a letter of extenuating circumstances to explain a drop in my gpa during one semester. I also received all A’s in my prerequisits for the program. i honestly dont know what else to do and why i am not being accepted. If anyone can provide some insight i would really appreciate it.

She mentioned that they want to give responses out at the same time as the other canadian schools.

I just called McGill and they said they are waiting for first week of April to give out responses.

Did anyone else get a rejection email from McGill. I have yet to hear from them I still have a tiny bit of hope.

Hello! Another update for you guys! I spoke with McGill(again) and there is a new chair of admission this year therefore it is undecided whether the successful candidates will be called or emailed (however in the past it has been phone calls). She also mentioned that there were MANY applicants this year with amazing applications and it is difficult to eliminate/choose. She has not received a list as of yet, so it should be starting next week.

No I did not ask that, unfortunately. Some people have told me they received a call and some told me they received emails (in past years), so i think it can be either or

where do i send my transcript to alberta university? Also does it require both cegep and university

I did an Undergrad in Biology so were in the same boat. I also have years of experience with children with special needs. I thought that having a biology degree might make me stand out from the rest of those applying from linguistics or psychology, but i did not get accepted (yet).
