Unless you're marrying her, no one is worth giving up a Fulbright grant for. It's only 10 months, not 5 years.

Just wondering, if anyone has any experience with this: is it possible to be engaged in a paid internship, while being in the US as a Fulbright student? I saw some interesting internships that I could find useful but most of them are paid. That would be great, if Fulbright allowed to do that it such terms?
If anyone knows more about this, please, share.
    Thank you!

I love my 12 hour time difference!! I can spend my days in peace, knowing nobody is going to contact me and there's no point in checking my email. The only waiting I have to do is from the time I wake up in the morning to rolling over and checking my iPhone. If there's something in my inbox- Yay! If there's nothing- get on with my day because there's not going to be any movement until the next morning. I'm productive all day and go to sleep excited! Exclamation points!

(But to be fair- this only applies after I got my first admit, before which I was nervous 24/7, no matter what)

Yo mama so dumb, she has just 5 publications.

Yo mama so big, quantum effects are absolutely negligible.

Yo mama so slow, classical mechanics perfectly describes her dynamics.

Yo mama such a nerd, she goes to grad school.

"Guys listen up. Jeez Janice, is that your fifth cup of coffee? It's been a long day Bill, back off. Yes it has, It's been quite long. We've gone over at least a hundred applications...I'M HUNGRY CAN WE GO? Hold on Bartholomew, please don't interrupt. BUT I'M...As I was saying ...hungry AS I WAS SAYING, we've gone over at least a hundred applications but we've this last one for the day. Sesquipedale, hmm, ha. What is, haha, what is he, hahaha. What is he saying? Janice read this.We better save this and post it online as an example. This is brilliant, just what we needed. Call him and ask if we may. The web page will read: how NOT to apply to grad school. See if he will waive the rights to his application so we can post it online as a scarecrow to deter other silly applicants from wasting our time."

Mine are looking at my SOP, LOR, and thinking "great", then my transcript and thinking "not bad", then my GRE and having a collective coronary.

    Sadly not in that order.

There are two rounds: one in January and then the next one is March - June-ish. In the first round, the US Fulbright commission looks at our apps during November and December and then makes recommendations for applicants to send to the host country.

I believe I have passed that round

They send about twice as many available grants. This means that if you make it past the first round, you have around a 50% shot at getting the Fulbright. The second round is based on each country's Fulbright commission looking at our apps.

The point is that I am a non-US applicant. Meaning, I have applied to go to the USA. I guess the timelines are about the same for all of us....

matilda got a reaction from Sarah S. in Ignorant Dean / Professor
So, here is the problem I have:
I applied for a Masters program 3 semesters+1 one semester ( 3 sem. course and 1 sem. thesis writing). The problem is that each of my semesters lasted for 1 year?! Because of ignorant professors saying "I don't have time...." to the Dean who kicked me out of her office this morning (she is my 3.sem. professor) saying: "I don't have the time for this.....".

I had to pay in advance for each of these semesters, my thesis proposal is in my research study objectives proposal for numerous scholarships....yet, I have to put in my CV that I am attending a M.Sc.Program that is lasting (so far) for 3 years..........and I barely see the end of it! It is 2007 when I got accepted, and now it is 2010 and I just had 2 semesters???!!!!
I have a difficult time explaining to potential advisors that I am not an imbecil, that I have great grades on my exams, but it is the Dean, and her entourage of professors are too lazy.

I already have one Masters, but I gave my money for this one, too!

Tell me, is there a way out? Can you help me with advices, because I felt really humiliated by my DEAN KICKING ME OUT OF HER OFFICE, saying I am too busy to have students...and actually , it was her job/will/obligation to lecture me through 3 semester.

    I am very angry.
