  1. From the way you described the situation, why are you even considering it a dilemma and worrying much? School A all the way! Good luck with your final decision and grad school!!!
  2. Congratulations on making the decision! I can only commend you for following your heart and choosing a school (and excellent one; so don't even think about the rating) which will help you become a better historian and let you work with the people who do exactly what you want to do!
  3. Hi there! I think you shouldn't worry if you selected rooms for $939. There seem to be plenty of those. Sure, nothing is guaranteed but if you chose those kind of rooms across different residences as your preferences, hopefully (fingers crossed) the chances of getting one are high. I am in the same situation. I mean... most new graduate students (especially those having no previous connection with Stanford whatsoever) are in the same situation. I also do not want to end up paying more than a grand.
  4. It sounds like you already chose Columbia and just need reassurance. Follow your heart! Whatever you think is right IS right!!! All the best making the final decision!
  5. True, applications opened today!! So what is everyone doing? I am currently thinking Rains. Lyman's sitting room looks small on the Student Housing website. Perhaps, it is just a bad picture... but it really puts me off. Also, Rains' exterior looks sunnier! Great reasoning too here.
  6. I would absolutely go for U Chicago! You are debating between two great schools. Oxford is awesome, sure thing, but I don't think its reputation is that much stronger than U Chicago's - especially if you think of a further Ph.D. in the States.
