Oh dear. I think I have e-mailed about 30-35 professors for admissions purposes. Looking at this now and evaluating all my correspondence critically, I would have probably not got into ANY of my schools, if I haven't e-mailed. If I may grant a piece of advice for next year applicants: Thou shalt disturb the faculty!

Option B - absolutely!!! Professor A sounds awesome to me... BUT Offer B sounds like a freaking DREAM offer overall!

I don't think it is written anywhere that it's taboo. People certainly do that. I heard that BA and Ph.D. from the same school (unless it is a top top school of course) may be (? say who?) taboo. BA and MA should def be fine.

I mean... I don't know but I'd say that if they are asking for it, then definitely provide the evidence of that other funding package. If they are not asking, then you could send them the details of that offer if you think it may help your case (i.e. will result in financial aid *full stop* or will result in an even bigger financial award). If you think that it will not really help your case and you will be awarded funding no matter what (or you think it may actually hurt *you never know*), then obviously do not send them evidence. The very fact that you manage to negotiate with the school is laudable!!! Well done!
