Has anyone held multiple TAships under the Doctoral FRQ awards? Is it troublesome as long as they add to less than 120 hours/term? Do they even check/care?

Wow! Ranked first by the evaluating committee and received the FRQNT. But I was rejected from NSERC. Certainly a consistent process. TBF I did put more focus on the FRQNT application because it is higher valued. Or at least it was... NSERC gonna get a pay bump.

Supposed to be end of April. Last year they sent an email in the evening (Wednesday April 26) stating that the results would be available the next day at 9AM. So we won't really know for sure until we receive that email. Not sure if the release is linked to the NSERC release (i.e., to be after the NSERC PGS/CGS results since if you get CGS D, you would be forced to decline the FRQNT scholarship).

Congratulations! I imagine the awards will still be CGSD/PGSD when awarded because the new budget is not ratified yet and won't get ratified for at least another few weeks. So NSERC probably can't give us an award letter with the new amounts just yet.

Not really "more competitive". It's just that the university will forward the "stronger applications" but if you're application is competitive then its competitive. You just skip the university's filtering step.

According to Support Our Science's FAQ who reached out to Minister Champagne's office: > I currently have a Vanier award, will it decrease to 40k? > The initial response to this question is that Vanier will be phased out but those who currently hold the award, including those who just received it this funding cycle, will continue to get paid at the same level (50k) until the end of their award.

How's everyone feeling for this? Maybe results will be available soon? My file says: "Last Updated: 04/11/2024 09:25". I don't know what that means.
