    Master's SSHRC 2012

Did you receive an e-mail from SSHRC around March indicating they had received your application?

    Master's SSHRC 2012

I'm in the exact same situation ilovebooks. Sent as an alternate, received an e-mail from SSHRC in March informing me they received my application. I still have yet to hear anything and I'm quite anxious as well. Also, I'm in Toronto where everyone has already heard back. Here's to hoping we find out sooner than later. But no news is good news too in this case I guess?

    Master's SSHRC 2012

I'm in North Toronto and still haven't heard . I see one poster did. I'm hoping tomorrow I find out. If not I'm going to start to worry.
  9. Just check and there are still no updates. The suspense is killing me... Why do they wait so long if they already have the information . It's early May!!
  10. Rejected @ U of T. Really stings, had my heart set on working with one of the professors there. Got accepted @ York. Both for social psychology.
  11. University of Guelph (CANADA) applied social psychology area met today. I was told I would not be receiving an offer of admission (unofficial rejection).
  12. Got rejected from Guelph's AS program today. Never got invited to an interview and the app was due December 15th so I had a feeling, but I e-mailed the graduate secretary and got an e-mail from the POI I put down and they informed me I would not be receiving an offer of admission. Edit: Apparently the area also met today to finalize decisions.
  13. I spoke with U of Waterloo today. Apparently the I/O department is reviewing files this week and final decisions will be coming out within two weeks.
  14. No sorry. I just saw on the results survey section of this website someone got invited to an interview for their I/O program.
  15. How do you reply to schools that accept you but you want to wait and hear back from other institutions to make a properly informed decision?
  16. Haven't heard anything from Waterloo or UWO yet either unfortunately (interview, decision, anything). I did apply to UWO for social though, and I saw in the results section that UWO had its interviews for I/O already. PM me for POI info
  17. Got accepted into U of Calgary's I/O program today. No interview.
  18. Any stats or stories on people getting SSHRC funding after being placed on the reversion list?
  19. Haven't heard anything regarding OGS yet either, but heard this info isn't released until April (usually after you've heard back from Grad schools)
  20. Yup heard back today from my University. I was put on ther "Reversion" list (Go to York). They said if they gave any more quota I'll have top priority in getting my file sent out, but really not counting on it. !!
  21. Congrats! I guess I'll be seeing you there. I received an invitation to U of T's march open house where I'll be having interviews with a number of faculty members, and checking out at least two of their labs. Haven't heard anything from anywhere else yet... getting very worred. Additionally, got some bad news today. Was put on the "Reversion" list for SSHRC by my University. I go to York. Most likely not getting SSHRC funding
  22. Thanks for your responses guys!! Really appreciated! I'm going to use all those resources. Thanks for your input as well psychapplicant, you make a really good point. @ repatriate: I guess I should elaborate more.... There are only roughly 5 english graduate programs in Canada. After coming to these forums I see most of you guys apply to an average of about 8-10 schools. Considering there are many more social psychology programs in Canada, I figured I'd apply to all 5 I/O programs as well as about 5-6 social psychology programs. Also, some of these social psychology programs would be at lower tier schools. Aside from that I also valued your input as well. Thank you!
  23. Hello everyone! Been browsing the forums for a while now and thought I'd finally sign up and make a post! I'm looking for a run-down of class profiles for social psychology programs. Information concerning number of applicants, number of admission, number enrolled, average GPA, etc etc. SIOP has this type of information for basically every I/O Program in North America, and it also seems like most clinical programs post this information on their websites... yet I can't find much for social. I'm located in Toronto, Canada so information geared towards Canadian programs would be the most useful but I'd also like to see the stats for US programs. ------------- A little about myself: I'm a 3rd year undergraduate honours psychology student that attends York University in Toronto, Canada. I currently have a GPA of about 3.7-3.75 (my school is on a 9-point scale.. haven't converted). I will be writing my honours thesis next year, and I currently volunteer in a social psychology lab. Next year I should be working and volunteering in two labs with two different faculty members. I will also be studying/writing my GRE this summer. I plan on applying to I/O programs, but I was thinking that I'd apply to social programs as well as "back up" considering there are only about 5 I/O programs in Canada. Thanks for your help! I look forward to further discussion with you all
