Hahaha it's true! Now we won't be stuck here! And thanks!
-
My husband was accepted to Fort Hays!!!!! Aaaaahhh we're so excited! After monitoring his email all day, the notification came by postal service.
-
He did - but no email yet one way or the other! Needless to say, I IMed him to tell him to keep an eye on his email, and may or may not have it open in another browser so I can ping him if/when it comes in ...
-
Haha, I was unreasonably hopeful when I checked the mail yesterday.
-
I've heard that as well, especially of smaller programs. I think that's why you'll see some people with great stats rejected from their "safety" schools and accepted to the "dream" ones.

So sorry, lorenzojojo.

Application Anxiety Thread
caterpillar replied to autismadvocate's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Bleh. There's no way all the app materials for Jackson State are going to be in by the March 1st deadline so I guess that app is out. My husband emailed them, hoping there was some consideration as long as the application itself is in, but nope, they adhere to a firm deadline for all materials. I'm suddenly much more nervous now that his list is down to 5 schools. -
Pacific University Oregon Interview
caterpillar replied to dial1010usa's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Just a note, dial1010usa - often times interviewees are asked to keep the questions confidential to prevent later interviewees from having an unfair advantage over other applicants. That may be why you're having trouble getting an answer to your question. -
I think the first two weeks of March will drag even more than these last two weeks of February... Historically 4 out of the 6 schools have notified that second week of March, but I think the "it could be today!" feeling will persist, especially as more schools send out acceptances.

SLP GRAD SCHOOL HOPES~DREAMS~GUESSES THREAD
caterpillar replied to twinguy7's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Asked my husband (fun idea, twinguy!): Hope - get into a program at all! Dream - get into PSU and take the trip to Ecuador as part of the bilingual program Guess - get into San Jose State and be stuck here for another two years (he really wants to leave!) I would say my hopes/dreams/guesses for him are a bit different, but this isn't about me -
Haha, thanks. I work a desk job so it's easy for me to summarize "items of interest from TGC" for him, like when interviews and acceptances go out. Plus he's not much for message boards!
-
Haha, my husband got an email, but the congratulations was after the "we have received the application" line so he didn't get too excited. Just told me they had emailed him to say they got everything.
-
I saw your stats go up! Congrats! Meanwhile, ETS still hasn't responded in the 2 business days that they promise, to my husband's email asking where on earth his GRE scores are ... They were sent to USM and FHSU before the Feb 1 deadline (like, confirmed sent by ETS, not just requested!) and neither school has received them. He sent another email but we're both going to be pretty upset if all the money for app fees/transcripts/score reports was wasted.

Application Anxiety Thread
caterpillar replied to autismadvocate's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
A month is still too long to wait. :/ At least when there's still items on the to-do list, there's a sense of proactivity. Now it's just drumming fingers on the tabletop... -
With SJSU, you do need to send your score report (so they'll see your score) but the FAQ clarifies that it's a state requirement, not something the school is specifically looking at.
-
I've found that searching the results for your school name and (speech|disorders|slp) shows some pretty reliable notification trends.

HOORAY! CSDCAS finally verified the app. One less site to refresh. Of course, the GRE scores still haven't gotten to USM or FHSU, despite being sent back in the third week of January. Still waiting for ETS to respond to that email. -

Oh man. It would be horrible if applications were graded. -
Anyone applying to southern programs?
caterpillar replied to SeaSpeech's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
U of Southern Miss and Jackson State, here (see signature)! And U of Central Arkansas, though honestly I'm not sure whether AR is in the south or the midwest?
