MSW Bound

I am hopefully turning my applications in this week. Let me encourage you re: CSULB... A MSW degree is a MSW degree. Your internships are where you will gain your experience and knowledge. Therefore, if you are looking for policy and capacity building, express that in your application. However, if you want a program that approaching community building, you might want to look @ UCLA - they have dual degree programs. Personally, I am applying to as many programs as possible.

I will be there, and am excited! The only con for applying to UCLA is the ranking, non-rolling admissions... The wait game is not that good.

I went to CSUDH's informational, and they said either 2 professional and 1 academic or 1 professional and 2 academic.

Mental Health or Families and Children... Military will be a great area with all of the military and military families that are and will be in need of service.

Those of you slatted to attend USC, how are you planning on paying for it? I have applied to their Virtual MSW program and am not wanting to have $80,000 worth of loans upon completion - any suggestions?

I have looked at a gizzilion programs and I must say USC is one of the best! Although the price is high, I am believing for a loan forgiveness upon completion!

I heard that CSULB takes a while to get back with its applicants... Continue to remain positive - I am!

Thank you, Jenners... I was able to get some good information from the admissions department. Looks like I will probably have to wait until the end of May to get my results. SMH

hey cdinh007 - if you gain entrance into USC or any other schools, will you resend your CSUDH accpetance?

I do not think government grant programs are available in graduate school (Cal State)... I believe they only offer department level and graduate department level scholarships... or the stipend programs. @Jenners/cdinh007 - did your portal change to accepted under application status prior to receiving your acceptance letter?

Okay - that brings me more hope... I turned in my app on the very last day possible. If you turned yours in the month February and received your acceptance in April, my acceptance must be on its way...

I can go the rest of my life without seeing these words: Your file is complete and has been sent to the appropriate department for review.

I have yet to be accepted... however, I do know that your FA will cover all of your tuition. CSU's are not expensive... you will have money leftover... How long did it take you to receive your acceptance???
