The counter is kind of weird.......Both of my schools just say "due by December 1st." I am just going to get it in as soon as I can.

Penn state? You already turned yours in? The English department isn't due until January.

Did they say on their website that it had to be in by 11:59, or are you just assuming the end of the day? The reason I ask is that I am so paranoid that the two schools I am applying to today have time requirements that won't find out about until I try to submit my application after it is over.

That's what happened to me with Minnesota. The department's website didn't say it, but it's required on the app. Thanks for the heads up, Minnesota!

Still alive and still working. I haven't slept yet. There is no way I can sleep until I get these done. I am revising my writing sample now.

THIS! Even though I am not studying to take the GREs again (although I wish I could have), I have soooooo many papers to grade!

I knew I had to write one for UCR, but that isn't due until the 10th. Then, today, the day Minnesota's app is due, I realize they want one, too. FML

Ehhh. I think it speaks more to my procrastination.

I am still awake and working. It sucks because I am sooo tired, so I feel like what I'm doing at this point sucks, but I'm afraid to go to sleep because I am worried I will oversleep or I will learn that I some how overlooked a time the apps had to be in by, even though I have checked a million times.

Awesome. Just NOW realized that Minnesota ALSO requires a personal history/statement/diversity thing. Not sure how I missed that. UGH.

I'm still up. My husband is making me a cup of coffee as we speak. I cannot sleep until I have this writing sample done.

See, this is what I am worried about it. Everyone is SO sure I'm going to get in. Everyone keeps talking about it. So if I don't get in anywhere this year, which I accept is a REAL possibility, it's going to be even worse to hear how "surprised" everyone is.

Okay, just in case, if the deadline is december 1st, and they do not list a time, should I assume that I can submit ANY time on December 1st?

I have some schools that have a 15 page max and then other schools who have a 20 page minimum. Awesome.

But I do feel like it should be different and emphasize different things if they are for completely different disciplines.....

Well, 1,000 words is 3 pages, so that sounds about right. A couple specifically state 500, which seems awfully short to me as I am currently over 1,000 and trying to cut back. Whatever you do, though, be sure to stay in the parameters of what they are each specifically asking for.

Oh god. Now I'm paranoid. I need to recheck all my dates again.
