When are the decisions going to come? argg! The anticipation is killing.

You'll never know if you never try Go for it. Trust me. If the best schools only accepted the most qualified/impressive resumes, they wouldn't be called the best. My friend felt the same way. Today, he's doing MPA at Harvard. Another one was also as apprehensive, and today she's at Cornell.

haha sorry about the panic I know. It's a little late right? that they just have our applications almost complete/complete? The lady I spoke with told me that they are still processing a lot of the applications, and we should start hearing back by March. USC is one of my top choices too

I just spoke with them. Seems like they misplaced the transcripts and are going to try and locate them, or email me if they still can't find them. Ugh. I hope they find them. I also asked about the financial stuff, and she just asked me to send whatever I could, and if they needed more, they'd let me know. I was under the impression that the financial info is normally sent out after the decision making? Oh well, guess I just have to be patient with this one.

Oh gosh! So USC SPPD sent me an email saying they haven't received my transcripts. I checked with my courier service (DHL) who confirmed delivery on the 2nd of December, 2011. Has USC misplaced them? Are they mistaken? What do you think? I will be calling them tonight anyway to confirm, but what do you guys think? Also, they asked me to submit a financial form which basically requires a bank letter stating that my expenses will be covered, (if I am taking a student loan). The thing is, no bank is going to give me a student loan WITHOUT an official acceptance letter. Any ideas to what I could do? I obviously don't have the money to pay the entire tuition, and nor do my parents, and the plan is to take a loan, if I were to get accepted, so what do I do about this letter? Any ideas/advice will be hugely appreciated

when do we start hearing back? Some people already seem to have offers, so I was just wondering when the time frame of this waiting period looks like?

Almost done with the holiday/no thinking about apps season. Back to working on 2 more apps this week. and waiting on the others I already submitted. sigh.

I have to do the CIP video too. Anyone have any advice on what it needs to be like? I'm pretty worried about what they may ask me, etc, and what I need to talk about. Help please!

It may be unprofessional but who cares? You rather your application gets submitted in time. Wait as long as you can and if you're really close to the deadline and she still hasn't done it, then go for it. It's not an issue. They understand. One of my rec writers didn't write my recoomendation until the night of the deadline. I was panicking and wrote on his fb wall. And I asked my sister, who's a student at my old school, so go and talk to him and make him do it. Seems unprofessional, but I had to get my apps completely submitted before the scholarship deadline. So he did them that same night. *thankfully* So don't worry!

Anyone heard of the online interview at CIPA? I was asked to do one within the next 5 days. Have you heard anything about it?

So I sent in all my application materials to Cornell last week, and gave my GRE on the 3rd of November. According to my score report online, my GRE scores were sent to Cornell on the 23rd of November. But today, the admissions lady emailed me saying "the scores are not uploaded yet and hope it happens soon". What does that mean? I can't afford to waste time ordering scores and re-sending them especially since they online report claims to have sent them on the 23rd. What do I do? I'm seriously panicking. Oh and I also haven't received my scores in the mail, but that's maybe because I live abroad? What do you think?

Totally get what you mean. I graduated in 2010 too and he's about 10,000 miles away from me too, so I can't drop in either. I don't think it's a problem sounding pushy, but my only thing is HOW do you sound politely pushy? lol

I'm so SICK AND TIRED with my 3rd recommender. I have emailed him regularly every 3 days to remind him to submit my recommendation, and he's even replied to me saying he'll get them in by the deadlines. Well, tomorrow is the first deadline (Wagner) and his letter isn't in yet. Ugh! I'm freaking out. I want to write on his facebook wall since that seems like the only place where he responds immediately as opposed to his emails.. but I don't know what I should write without sounding like a paranoid freak. But it is the last day and I'm scared he won't send it in, in time. Please help! What's the best thing to write on his wall? other than "SEND RECOMMENDATION NOW." lol please help!

goodness. I feel like like an idiot. I submitted my app to Cornell last week and realized I had sent in an older draft of my statement of purpose. Thank god I realized. haha. I called them up yesterday and asked them if I could resend it, and luckily they were really cool about it. On the other hand, I'm almost done with my NYU app and my recommender still hasn't submitted his letter even though he's assured me he'll send it in before the deadline. Sigh

Ah thank you! That's good to hear! The admissions lady does seem super nice, so I'm hoping it wouldn't be a problem. Gosh! I know how scary the recommendation crap is. My former supervisor waited until 2 nights before the deadline to submit hers. Seriously, ridiculous.

So my recommender finally replied saying "I got your facebook message and I'll make sure I'll get them done". It's hilarious how he didn't get all my emails to his official account, and checked facebook instead. haha Gotta lotta facebook. I just submitted my app for Cornell CIPA. However, I had a question. I didn't see any place on the online application for me to upload my current CV, even though it's a requirement. So I emailed my CV to the admissions lady and asked her to add it to my file. Do you think they'll accept it? I just freaked out a little bit thinking what if they don't accept it or something?

I feel ya. My recommender is doing a research on the effect of not responding to emails anymore regarding my LOR's. I finally wrote on his facebook wall! He better get the point now. haha

my prof FINALLY sent in my recommendation 2 DAYS before the date. Seriously, what's up with them sometimes. I was freaking out, but glad she got it done. Now to hound another one who seems to be taking his own sweet time too. haha

Try to increase your verbal score. Your quant and work experience is good. Singapore you can look at Nanyang and NUS. Good luck
