  1. So I took the GRE General Test last September and I sent the scores to 4 schools. When I registered to take the GRE Subject test for October, I also listed the same 4 schools in the Score Recipients. Am I right in thinking that ETS will send two Test Reports, one with only the General test scores and the other with both the General and subject test scores? In my mygre page, each school is listed twice and I am confused.
  2. Don't bother with the DVD. It's not even worth the extra price. (It's just a video summarizing the tips in the book)
  3. But that's for the Paper-based test. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've heard, the scoring for that is slightly different to make up for the adaptive nature of the computer-based test.
  4. 1st POI e-mail sent! *positive thoughts*

  5. Hello! I'm an international student, and I am worried if the Transcript I will submit is enough. My Transcript does not have a cumulative grade, aside from the fact that it is graded on a different scale. Is this acceptable? I mean, how would my grade be compared to other students? I do have a separate certificate that shows my cumulative grade however, I am hesitant to submit this since this is not part of the requirements. What do you think? Am I overthinking this?
  6. Now that I'm done with the Chemistry subject test, I can finally start working on my SOPs and contacting POIs. Is it too late? :/

last year, I contacted POIs on Oct 31 and started writing SoPs mid November. :P

  7. I took the chemistry subject test. I have to say, the test was relatively easy compared to the practice tests (less computations). Inorganic chem was quite hard, and analytical chem was almost non-existent. I just want to forget about this exam until the results arrive on November 25.
  8. To those who will be taking the GRE Chemistry, this is a good resource. http://stanford.edu/~selassid/gre/ I didn't know the 1995 version is also available online!
  9. The week before the exam, I took at least 1 practice test in analytical writing (2 essays) in the morning so that I will be familiar with the time constraints and to keep the momentum going, so to speak. I'm not really concerned with the writing score but I thought a bad score will look bad. I also took practice tests in reading comp to practice speed reading. The day before the exam, I skimmed through my vocab flashcards (I think around 3 to 4 words appeared, LOL)
  10. Thanks! I still have Analytical and Inorganic Chem left to review. I am allotting 2 days to finish the Quantum Chem and statistical thermodynamics part (I saw these topics in the practice tests). I hope I finish all these with only a month left!
  11. I am taking the GRE Chemistry subject test this October. Any tips?
  12. I got an extra verbal section. The weird thing is, I almost ran out of time on the first verbal section while I have 5 minutes to spare for the 2nd and 3rd sections which I thought were harder than the first one (longer sentence completion, harder words, and longer passages).
  13. I have just taken the GRE yesterday. The test is reaaaally draining. Anyway, I scored V550-650 and Q740-800 on the actual test. Powerprep correctly predicted this: V540-640, Q750-800 - taken a week ago V540-640, Q750-800 - taken a month ago looks like all the studying I did for verbal didn't work. haha.
