  1. My apps season is finally over! 3 acceptances and 1 reject. not bad!

  2. Rejection letter from U Chicago finally arrived in the mail. Somehow, I don't feel sad knowing that I was accepted to three other awesome schools!
  3. Hang in there guys! It ain't over 'til it's over! I swear, even after receiving acceptances, the wait is still unbearable.
  4. I'm loving the trilogies: The Hunger Games, The Millenium Trilogy and I've just read Divergent by Veronica Roth.
  5. Accepted for Chemistry. Anyone else planning to go here?
  6. I hope somebody answers this: To the people who were accepted to UChicago via e-mail, was it an e-mail from the department or from a POI? This is my top-choice school and the wait is nerve-wracking. D:
  7. Why not ask them about it yourself? But based on what you said, they are only asking for your degree and not a specific grade requirement. So I guess if you show them that you've graduated, there'll be no problem.
  8. “After you find out all the things that can go wrong, your life becomes less about living and more about waiting.” ― Chuck Palahniuk, Choke

  9. 1. Prepare plans for the summer vacation! 2. Finish an article for publication 3. Meet with friends! 4. Exercise 5. Learn French 6. Oscars Movie Marathon 7. Read books (I have so much catching up to do!)
  10. My friends and even my professors didn't even say "you'll get in somewhere" to me this year. I don't know if I should be happy or sad.
  11. So are there any University-specific facebook groups for the incoming grad students?
  12. really? her e-mail says the department "will announce its decisions no later than the middle of February".
  13. - "What are my chances (rate from 0-100%) of getting in at XXX University? I want a specific value. Thankss." - After submitting all the application materials: "OMG, I need a plan B" That is all.
  14. HAHA. me too! apparently, they got our e-mail from the GRE database. These days, any e-mail with the words "Admissions" or something like that on the subject line gives me mini-heart attacks.
  15. Yeah, I'm beginning to think that chem programs are more straightforward. This morning, I received an e-mail from my smartphone with the subject line: "JHU Acceptance". And then my internet died for 30 minutes just before the message loads. I swear, that was the longest 30 minutes. What if the subject line said "acceptance" but the message inside says "Just kidding, we are rejecting you". sigh.
  16. woke up to a good news. Just got accepted to Johns Hopkins! I'm in Inorganic/Organometallic chem.
  17. Me too, I'd love to go to a visiting weekend to get a feel of the place, the professors and the students. But alas, I am an international student, and if I attended one, I'd be spending *at least* a thousand dollars to get there (after the school reimburses the 300 dollars for airfare). And yes, this school is also my safety school. On the one hand, it might change my opinions about this school when I attend its visiting weekend so it might be all good. On the other hand, something tells me it is not wise to waste all that money, especially since I'll be living in poverty (aka gradschool) for at least 5 years.
  18. eek. UChicago now sends out E-mail notifications instead of mail? Freaking out!
  19. "You're studying again? You'll end up being a librarian" -This is wrong in so many levels.
  20. Mine was a bot of a spoiler, LOL. From U Florida: "Offer of Admission" From Tufts: "Good News!"
