Wake, Villanova or W&M... I go to Wake and they have an extremely high success rate of getting people into good PhD programs...people from last year went to places like UVA and Duke. We aren't very clinically oriented though...great for social, personality and some cognitive neuroscience stuff.

I think I know which southern school you are talking about, and if I do, it's where I have chosen to go in the fall. My reason was that it has a great track record of getting their MA students into good PhD programs. I really understand the boyfriend/friends thing...my boyfriend will only be two hours away and I know that will be a rough transition since we went to undergrad together. I can't imagine being a flight away. But I had multiple professors at my undergrad institution talk about how well the school prepares students for PhDs. But, again, like you said, interest plays a large role in the whole process as well. Overall, I know I am probably not helping much but I definitely feel empathy for your situation. Let me know if you decide on the southern school

I feel the same thing with my housing search...when I was in undergrad all of the good places would get taken months in advance so I'm anxious to get things settled. I've looked into the Wake Forest Properties rentals and they look nice but I'm not sure how I feel about signing onto completely random roommates and I can't find any reviews by former or current tenants.

Anyone else headed to Winston this fall? I'll be doing an MA in Psychology.

So now that most of the PhD rejections are out there, has anyone heard anything about Villanova, W&M or Wake Forest? Judging by last year's results they should be contacting people soon. I know Villanova does rolling admissions but I applied close to the deadline...if anyone on here was accepted, how long did it take you to hear back?
