I already stopped breathing...

I just called UCLA and they told me to wait until next week. I didn't receive any notifications so far so I went for the kill. *insert desperation* If they have already made all the decisions (rejections, admissions, wait-lists)...why torturing me for another week?

I received that kind of treatment (...) from UCLA. No admission, no rejection, no notification on wait-listing...so yeah I am just worried that me calling them is just a confirmation of rejection...

I rechecked the grad cafe survey this morning and assume the schools that I haven't heard back from all rejected me. Interesting that UCLA applicants went through several rounds of admit-waitlist-reject-admit off wait list and they didn't even care to sent me a rejection letter. Not trying to be too passive aggressive here but I think I should start consider re-applying for the next cycle. Any suggestions? Experience? I have never been there myself (I lived in Beijing and Shanghai), but Harbin is definitely a nice place~

After several anxiety attacks I reached towards the conclusion that I should avoid grad cafe for the sake my poor heart. It can be painful, especially if you find out that your schools are sending out acceptances while you do not even get rejection letters.

Oh well that just adds to my stress because the stats the person posted was simply terrifying. BTW about the rep system here, isn't it strange that we can't just turn it off or at least get notified which post was neg-repped? Hmm, I am the passive-aggressive here in the forum. I apologize if this has already got on someone's nerves.

I think my situation is a little bit frustrating. I am an international student finishing a MA in PoliSci (school is out of rank). My undergraduate degree was in English. Political Science research in China is very underdeveloped and my interest has absolutely nothing to do with economics or development, so I don't exactly have a Plan B unless you count becoming a dissident of my home country as one. I thought I could directly get into PHD after I finish, but this year doesn't look good for me.

Okay...What I literally said...after I got my first unofficial rejection...(yep, I have, what the Japanese say, a Tofu-ish mentality) "I just realized I was never interested in *insert field* to begin with..."
