yeah hang in there...1.5weeks isn't so bad, plus its easter this weekend (i actually forgot about this, & i'm supposed to be catholic lol) focus on other stuff

@ ORhopeful: I am actually waiting on Cornell M.Eng ORIE too. I applied for the PhD, got rejected; but in the rejection email, they asked if i want them to consider my app for M.Eng. It would be really cool if we both got in we would have stories to tell (I'm usually shy, so this would give me 1 topic; i would probably find a way to keep it going for like 6mnths lol) @ daniela: good luck to u...hang in there @ ootg: i really do appreciate d help/support u give us...i see your posts on other topics, and im sure im not alone in saying - thnx, good luck/wish u d best @ myself: i need to get 20+ posts to make it to 200 by end of tomorrow - i've got to beat ootg on the march top 10 posters

i totally understand what you are going through. i graduated in dec 08; most of my profs thought i would rush to grad school because i had done a lot of REUs, research &teaching assistantships...but i wanted to take a year to figure out my career path, and if grad school was the right choice. i only got accepted to Howard (a HBCU -black school) like a couple of days ago; most of the other schools i applied to rejected me; the remaining few have not yet sent word. Now having graduated (undergrad) from a HBCU as a 'star student', most of my professors expected me to get accepted into an ivy league/big school. With only an acceptance to Howard, idk what my professors would say or think about me; especially with other students getting into their great programs in their respective fields... but one way or the other, you have to accept that at this point in your life, no one's opinion counts as much as your's does...did you honestly do the best you could in your apps/previous studies? its a question only you can answer. if you put in your best, and things don't work out; i doubt its anyone's fault; your's included. if professors and colleagues think otherwise...they obviously are not that smart - that's how i think/console myself

yeah...two days b4 my bday on friday, i got my first and only acceptance not 1st choice, but still a choice i know exactly how u feel; I wanted it so badd....

yeah same here - hope it works out for u guys i would say that on the safe side, if a school accepts you in the US; contact the schools in Canada and tell them. If they can't let you know the deal prior 15th, then they aren't your best choice...idk, its up to you.
