  1. Interesting, I get funding through an assistantship not tied to my program so for me, I can keep both.
  2. Good luck to you both in UK. This is my 3rd time applying lol. Rejected the first time, waitlisted the second time. Given this trend, hoping that for my third time I will move up to being successful. If not...well so be it.
  3. Hopefully your letter comes quicker than usual. I'm in Delaware, so it will be either tomorrow or Wednesday.
  4. Unfortunately, some schools will inform successful applicants individually but tell them not to share until everyone gets their results from SSHRC....
  5. Universities get the results before we do. Some universities will contact their students, some will just stick to the snail mail roll out of the results from SSHRC. If you really can't wait, I'd contact the awards officer for your department/graduate school to find out. I'm in the States so I have to buckle down for the letters, but I'd ask if I was in a Canadian institution. The funny thing is nobody on here has posted that they found out from their University yet...
  6. It'll be tomorrow...and if not tomorrow then well...people damn well better have things to distract themselves with!!
  7. That's ridiculous! They should just send out emails!!
  8. That's odd...usually the schools are informed before the letters go out. I really hope that SSHRC just resorts to emailing the results given the time crunch!
  9. Someone asked on Twitter and SSHRC replied saying this week. The letter will probably go out likely today or tomorrow!
  10. Next week it seems, usually there are people who will find out when the letter went out or when it will be sent out but no news so far.
  11. This. Not sure what you are looking for here. Many of the funding decisions are a case-by-case scenario and even all of the students in your program might be on different funding sources. Best bet is to ask your department and cut the uncertainty.
  12. If you are successful, you would just need to get a signature from your training/graduate studies director so that SSHRC is informed of your standing in the program. They can then go through with the payment process for you and they will deposit it straight to your bank account.
  13. damn they are slow this year..mails should have been sent out this week
  14. I expect the snail mails to be sent out starting next week.
  15. I think it is rare to ever benefit from attending an unfunded Master's. I would recommend that you get a job and stay involved in a lab for research experience if your goal is to further the education. Also, what are you basing your statement on JHU being a good school for chemical engineering? The name value of the schools matters less at the graduate level and it's more about the research and prestige of the department. I'd do some more research if you haven't.
  16. You'll only stress yourself out more by trying to figure this out. It's about 15-20% chance for foreign applicants and yes, the pool is the count for direct applicants and does not include applicants applying through Canadian institutions. Best to just forget about this and keep yourself engaged with other things until April.
  17. In the US, also got the forwarded letter. Good luck all, now comes the most grueling wait
  18. The evaluation process definitely is a mystery. This is my third time applying as a direct applicant. I was forwarded in both of my previous attempts but was not chosen in the final review process. Hoping third time is a charm.
  19. It seems like the waitlist score range this year is in the ballpark of 12.1-13. I would imagine the upperbound would be less than 13 but close to 13.
