  1. Did you hear from anyone? I'm waiting to hear from this school as well.
  2. In my situation, a p.o.i I had been in touch with didn't get to see my application (last year) as it goes through the grad school before it goes to the department and "as I wasn't in the bottom half, but not quite in the top 12% either",...this year, we've continued to be in touch and he said he was going to go ask about it now, before it went through the grad school. I have no idea what that means... I don't think he's on the admissions committee or anything, so it might not make any difference at all, but I was excited to be in touch with him all the same.
  3. Did you end up getting n? I just applied to the Trinity College- Dublin PhD program for counseling psychology...and I bounce between blinding optimism and futility.
  4. What did you end up doing? I'm sort of in the same situation as this.. I applied to Trinity in Dublin.... I want to go very badly, but like you, the debt is a consideration and potential deterrent.
  5. I would omit the GRE. I did well on the verbal and writing, but tried to teach myself geometry for the test and the quant section wasn't great.. It definitely isn't indicative of my abilities within my field, I graduated with a 4.0 (including calc), but had never taken geometry in my life. . As well as not everyone can afford the prep classes that teach the tricks of the test... I would consider the SOP the most heavily....not only does it demonstrate to some degree writing ability, but it's the applicants opportunity to set themselves apart and show a bit of their personality and challenges.
  6. Will the person who just posted the interview status for U. of Hawaii at Manoa (clinical psych) please pm me their POI? Did they just send the email, or was it earlier today? Jealous..happy for you, but j-e-a-l-o-u-s
  7. If anyone is wondering about ASU social psych.. I met with my thesis adviser (who's on the committee) today to get my thesis ready for publication, and he said they met this morning and chose 8 people to extend interviews to. He said it was so hard because more than half of the hundred and something applicants looked great. Just an FYI in case anyone is wondering. Good Luck.
  8. Hey Redheadblueheel... Did you pick out any specific faculty to work with at ASU? I did my undergrad there and can give you some insight on the profs. Good luck!
  9. At ASU, A+'s are worth 4.33, regular A's are worth 4.0. I had gotten an A- previously, but canceled it out my last semester with an A+
  10. Thanks guys.. I sort of figured. I just can't stop worrying about my applications...and all the what-ifs. My fear is someone with equivalent research and GRE's will oust me with the 4.0, y'know all else considered equal.. I know it's irrational, lol, sigh.. but such is life.
  11. Is there a non-obnoxious way to let my schools know this.. or do I just wait to see if I get interviews and let them know then? Would anyone advise me to let them know before I hear anything either way?
