  1. i've heard that they consider their own students first :-/ so its kinda crummy. i'm feeling like their isn't a chance to get admitted at CSULB anymore... I accepted SDSU's 3 year offer & inquired about the stipend program for child welfare services... i actually got lucky... SDSU interviewed me for the title IV-E stipend and put me on the waitlist for the 2 year program per my request & i got accepted into both the 2 year program & the title IV-E stipend program :-) even if i hear in july from csulb... i feel SDSU has really worked and showed me that i belong with them. csulb tries to make it seem like its our privilege to go there... i feel its quite opposite... they should be privileged to have us... quite frankly i think its rude... maybe i'm just bitter. what i liked about SDSU was that you only have 10 days from the date on the acceptance offer to respond... so people who're being ding dongs and don't reply don't cloud up the incoming pool of people who want in. i think csulb basically sent out all their acceptance letters & are waiting to see what opens up for us on the pending list. good luck guys!!! if i get an offer from csulb, the only way i'd accept it is if i got the same offer as i have at sdsu.
  2. I think you only hear about the Title IV-E stipend when you're admitted. They go through the admitted people w/ interest and them schedule interviews. At least that's what happened with my sdsu application. Once I was admitted they interviewed me. I should hear back this week :-)
  3. Yes CSULB is my first choice... however things really seem to be falling into place at SDSU so i may have to completely change my mind and plans. Tomorrow I interview for the title iv-e stipend program, which is an opportunity that I can't turn down if it is offered. Congrats on CSUDH! if you're doing a children and youth concentration you should see if you can get the title iv-e stipend as well!
  4. They recently sent out an email to me about financial aid and wanted me to fill out some form... but still don't know if i've been accepted. i spoke with someone and have been told most people won't hear until may, they received a ton of applications this year according to admissions.
  5. i got into sdsu but am waiting for csulb's answer as to whether i've been accepted or not. i'm still pending. they seem to be holding out on a lot of people, i wonder why.
  6. It sounds like a lot of us are still waiting to hear from CSULB... I'm still pending with them too... getting annoyed because I have to make plans on where to move as my lease is up soon. I got accepted to USC as well... I'm not quite sure if i'm interested in attending though... Tuition is too high & applying for a scholarship guarantees me nothing :-/ I guess until i hear from CSULB... SDSU 3 year is what i gotta go with. Accepted- SDSU & USC Pending-CSULB
  7. I submitted mine really late actually, I went and hand delivered it on its due date in the morning. I think it was Literally Feb. 1st. I wouldn't say I'm holding out necessarily... I'm trying to weigh out my options. I feel like grad schools want us to feel like they accept us but we have to in turn accept them too. If I get a 2 year program offer I don't feel like it would be worth turning down, so I want to see if I get other acceptances that would benefit me more as a student :-) Stay positive though. I applied for the 2 year program & got into a 3 year program... Many people that got an alternate offer may not accept, therefore leaving space for you!!!
  8. My stats: GPA: 3.67 Undergraduate: Cal State Fullerton Human Services Major Graduating this Spring. Completed over 360 Hours of Internship Experience and another 200 of Volunteering. To tell you the truth I think it really helps that my undergrad program has a lot of emphasis on theories and techniques and my internship at CSUF's Womens Center as well. Particularly the letter of rec from the Director of the Women's Center... Don't be discouraged, I've heard you can hear of your acceptance up until the last week of July! Many of us have applied to many schools and have our "ideal" school hidden uptop so people may just be waiting to hear from other schools. SDSU requires an answer within 10 days of their offer. There is definitely still a chance!
  9. To my surprise today I got an acceptance letter to SDSU, however it is only to the 3 year program. I sent in my acceptance today to keep a spot but am going to really have to wait to see what my options are. Good luck to you futurelcsw! I'm assuming they don't do interviews because it said nothing of the sort in the acceptance letter I must be crazy...
  10. I got some stupid incomplete letter from CSULB because they "misplaced" my 2 csuf transcripts that I sent them. Now they sent me a letter and its a pending status... annnnnnoyinggg. Still waiting on SDSU haven't heard anything it's just pending... ANNOYING... I just submitted a last minute application to USC and have been told by the recruiter i will likely be accepted but 85,000 for a 16 month MSW program... :-/ a lot of moneyyyyy. UGH! Has anyone been interviewed at SDSU? I really want to get in thereeee.... I've only seen 2 posts that have had responses from SDSU :-/
  11. Hey, I'm go glad i found this forum! I was going nuts trying to see if anyone else had heard anything. Congratulations to everyone thats been accepted. I've applied to CSULB and SDSU for their 2 year msw programs. I literally turned them in on the deadline. Has anyone heard back from either of these schools?
