  1. Thanks, remmy! I'm on the waitlist for funding - I'm not holding out much hope, but not too worried because of in-state tuition. I was accepted to UIUC last year and really liked it but the cost held me back. What are your top choices right now?
  2. Just accepted my spot at IU - Bloomington! Who're the other future Hoosiers out there?
  3. Just accepted the admissions offer to the MA SLP program here. Who else is coming?
  4. Trina, Thanks for writing this reply. I'm currently trying to decide between 2 schools, who vary very marginally in ranking, and have been spending a lot of time thinking about how much a difference in rank really matters. It's refreshing to remember that regardless where most of us future slps go, we'll all be ok in the long run.
  5. Heya, everyone and anyone! I've recently been accepted to both Purdue and Indiana University-Bloomington's SLP programs. IU told me I'm on the waitlist for funding, and Purdue says they won't make funding decisions until the beginning of April. So funding isn't a sure thing regardless of where I go, but a part of me says to go to IU and hope that it works out. Here's my gut reaction: I absolutely LOVED Bloomington when I visited, and West Lafayette was alright. Purdue's academic program is ranked a little higher than IU's, but both are top ranked programs. City-wise, I'm leaning towards Bloomington. Academics and reputation-wise, I'm leaning towards Purdue. Seriously, ANY feedback about either program or city would be helpful! Thanks
  6. Cool cool! Commuting would get pretty tiresome, I'd imagine. I'm pretty stoked about in-state tution, too, and fortunately it's pretty cheap to live in Indiana. Right now I'm stuck between Purdue and IU [who waitlisted me for funding]. Fingers crossed! Good luck hearing back from your other schools!
  7. Hey, Trina. I just got a call from them last night, too! I'm trying to decide between there and IU-Bloomington. A guy I went to high school with is doing his PhD at Purdue now, and had only good things to say about it. He lives in downtown Lafayette, rather than West Lafayette, but says it's been a nice place to be. Have you visited yet? I went in the fall, but didn't get to explore much outside of campus.
