  1. Well I suppose that's reassuring?
  2. Did *anybody* interview for Fordham?
  3. Yeah, I had heard that. I just thought it was strange that I haven't heard a single word from them. Boston College has been very communicative. Seton Hall was the same way.
  4. I applied to Fordham in addition to BC. Anyway, I haven't heard WORD ONE from Fordham since August (I applied crazy early because I missed their deadline but I'd already started the app). Anyway, they said they'd be considering me for fall 2013, but I seriously haven't heard a peep from them since I got everything finalized. Anybody have any idea if this is how they usually roll or what?
  5. I certainly had to harass mine. One of them dropped off the face of the earth entirely once my Fordham application was done, so I ended up having to scrounge for a new third letter in the closing weeks.
  6. I did my senior thesis on Christine de Pizan. /english major I'm seriously going insane waiting here.
  7. I interviewed at BC for the MTS, too. I considered their M.Div., and may well transfer into it, but I wasn't convinced either 1) of the commitment needed for a four year masters when my fiancee has her own career to worry about, and 2) how badly I wanted those pastoral classes. Secretly hoping all three of us go to BC I got accepted by Seton Hall, but they have rolling admissions, so...
  8. Potato Skins chips. I'd be eating cereal if I had any.
  9. Does anybody have any idea what's going on with BC's interview process? I had been told the admissions committee was meeting the 15th, but that was also the application deadline, and they seem to still be giving out interviews.
  10. Weird. I dunno what's goin' on, then. Either way, I hope I was helpful.
  11. O_o I thought they were done with interviews. I was told the admissions board was meeting last Friday. Strange. What program are you applying for? I think general interview advice applies. Calm down, make sure you've got ready answers, and *make sure you have good questions for them*. The big question I got asked at my interview was what, exactly, I was interested in doing with my degree. BC places a big emphasis on practical theology, so they want to know how you want to minister to the wider church.
  12. Hey, cool, BC made the list, and he namechecked my principal POI (presuming I am using that acronym correctly)
  13. Oh man. I keep checking even though I know I won't be hearing anything until March, *just in case*.
  14. I had my interview at Boston College last week. It was short, and my fiancee, who was in the room (but out of sight) while I was Skyping with admissions, told me she thought it went really well. I've been trying to divine an answer out of it; the dude said my high GREs and my most recent work (a 4.0 in my brief seminary career) far outweighed my very questionable undergrad performance, and I'm hoping the committee agrees with them. I think I made a solid case for my interest in BC in particular, my (very reasonable) plans on what to do with my theology masters after graduation, and yada yada. It was a very pleasant conversation that ran like twenty minutes. He closed with "You'll get a response in a couple of weeks." And now I'm going mad.
  15. Seton Hall ICSST has rolling admissions, and I got accepted within a couple of weeks of finalizing my application. Dunno if that's usual.
  16. Anybody interview for Fordham GSAS? I know they've already made decisions and will be notifying shortly, but I'm curious if interviews were part of the process. I haven't heard from the school in ages, and I'm not terribly optimistic about my prospects, but I still wonder if anybody else has had a different experience with the application.
  17. I haven't heard a word from Fordham in ages. I hope they remembered to consider my application. I was late for the 2012 season, and they said they'd be happy to consider me for 2013. Here's to hoping.
  18. I'll be hearing back sometime the first week of March, and my interviewer was one of the assistant directors of admissions. I'm always reluctant to give out names.
  19. No dog, but we do have a couple of cats. Thanks very much for the tips.
  20. I was looking at the results page, and I wanted to extend my sincerest congratulations to everyone to got accepted to Boston College STM's doctoral program! I hope I'll be joining you as an MTS student in the fall.
  21. Eager, I know I don't know you, but I think I can say many people here absolutely love you. You've been a source of great solace and comfort for a lot of people on this board. I'm so sorry it didn't pan out for you. I wish you so much success, so much happiness, so much peace. Your enthusiasm has been infectious, your positivity like a fire. God bless you, keep you, and all of that.
