Yes. My guess is they are moving down the alphabet. But, I don't really know. They sure are taking awhile to dole out rejections this time around.
-
Finally rejected from Wisconsin. ...really hoping to get off the waitlist at UMass.
-
Gotcha. Yeah, I'm really hoping for a waitlist there. I would think they will release their decisions pretty soon. They are already quite late as it is, relative to their release dates in the past few years.
-
Yeah, it's really odd. I'm assuming that was just the first wave of rejections that went out (USC has done something like that in the past, usually alphabetically, but not so spread out). You say "...waitlist more people..."—have they started? I haven't seen anything indicating that. But, please correct me if I'm wrong. And I think they are almost guaranteed to have a hidden waitlist. They've operated that way for a few years now.

Anyone have any idea what's taking Austin so long to waitlist? Have they already started and I'm just a loser?

Waitlisted at UMass-Amherst. High on the waitlist. Very excited.

Have there been any reports—on the forum, FB, or elsewhere—of Riverside waitlists?

With respect, I think you might be underestimating the difficulty and randomness of this process. Many applicants with impeccable files get shut out or near shut out. It shouldn't be surprising that you don't get into a top 20. Rather, it should be surprising *if you get in* to such places. There are plenty of anecdotes to confirm this. Applicant A gets shut out one year. Applicant A applies another year, makes no changes to his file, and gets into a top 10. Applicant B gets rejected from low and mid-ranked programs, yet gets accepted to a top 5. Applicant C only gets low-ranked waitlists, only to be accepted to a top 25 near the end of the season. Applicant D gets rejected from many low-ranked programs, only to be accepted to a top 25. The applicant I have in mind for D had an incredible file, with a stellar sample. But, for even low-ranked programs, that might not matter. Fit plays a role; letters play a role; institution plays a role; and so on. This process isn't predictable.

Wow. Surprised to see Indiana release via post this year. Anyone want to claim the acceptance? I'm hoping the absence of a letter is only explained by my location.
-
The way it was worded was ambiguous between two interpretations: 1. They will release sometime this week, or 2. They have started releasing and will continue to do so this week. I'm unsure how to interpret it. I feel it would implausible that they've sent out all their acceptances, given the history of reports from Indiana. Unless there is a real paucity of Indiana applicants this year.
-
Thank you so much for that! Even if you didn't get a response. And I was just about to post about this: A friend of mine emailed an administrator there a few days a go and got a strangly worded response just this morning: "The admissions committee *has starting* [sic] making offers this week."

Got a call from Riverside, CA. Not UCR.
-
Got it. I anticipate it coming in waves then, as many people apply there, and there have been few reported.
-
Just saw a rejection reported for Austin. To the person that posted: were you prompted to check the site for their decision? I would also encourage others to check, in case the decision has already been made.
-
*sigh*...Indiana...why? I'm also still eagerly awaiting some waitlists from Madison, Rochester, and Riverside. I'm wondering what is taking so long.
-
I've got to ask one more time: is anyone willing to act as a liaison for folks interested in Indiana's program? They are terribly "late" at this point, and so I'm curious what is going on and when they will release. Ideally, this would be someone that has no interest in going there, so as to avoid any worries of leaving a bad impression and the like. If someone could call or email the department about this, many of us would really appreciate it. If it helps, there have been folks in past years that have done this with success and no bad impressions were had.
-
Congrats! Did they say where you were on the list? I'm curious why we're not seeing more waitlists reported. I'm hoping more will be released today and tomorrow (as they usually release over two days).
-
Whoa, results page is back up and running. Quick, everyone post what happened today (even if it's not much)!
-
Right. I'm hoping this at least leaves it open for a waitlist to come my way. I'm hoping. Thanks for the information, even if it is minimal

I saw a Boulder waitlist reported on Facebook. I'm bummed I haven't got one, but I'm curious if there were any more to be had. It seems there would be more as none have been reported here. Any thoughts?
-
How has nothing happened yet? This is ridiculous. Anyone willing to act as a liaison for us? One could contact programs and ask when they plan to release decisions (whether that be acceptances, waitlists, or rejections).
-
Also, where are the waitlists?? Many programs that have released acceptances *usually* release their waitlists a day or two after the acceptances. But for a good handful it has been a week or so, and nothing still.
-
Rejected from Cornell...probably.
-
Gotcha. Congrats! I'll be hoping for that waitlist then.
