Or do they give you nothing more? Curious about Harris here. Definitely negotiate with all of the schools. I've successfully done so with LBJ; Evans and McCourt are still reviewing. Harris has a formally established reconsideration process but I'm not sure what the rate of success is. I will probably go to LBJ if I don't get money from other places. Plus, it can't hurt to live for free for 2 years and get a Masters at the #11th best program, right? Are any of you going to admitted weekend at LBJ? Would love to talk to other ppl who also got into Harris, Evans, etc. and who are having similar dilemmas

Not as rigorous as for law and business). I saw LBJ ranked 11th in a 2017 USNWR ranking. also, since you decided to go to Harris, would you recommend taking on a lot of debt for it? Harris paying 10K/year v. LBJ full ride??? Edited March 16, 2018 by PolicyPol

It's just like any other negotiation - you may not get what you ask for, and you may not get anything, but it's always worth it to ask. I originally asked them to match the offer that USC made, but even if it didn't, it saved me $10K overall. I don't know how Harris would respond - maybe other students have successfully bargained with them in the past and can attest to that.
pozole Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Has anyone tried to negotiate / leverage other offers at GSPP? If so, can you share any info about the process and outcome? I’ve asked about the GSI, etc positions and it doesn’t sound feasible (for me) to have one of these positions for all 4 semesters... thanks!

They increased it to $15k a year. Over and above this scholarship, Harris would cost another $100k (tuition + living) . I'm really not sure if it worth so much for a policy degree for an international student. What do you all think?
pasale Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 This sheet might be useful, (also pinned in the government affairs section): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NQ73cGtG8IrL0eBCUdCydKUd3hF0MbbTNRDt-X1H06A/edit?usp=sharing
elizabethrs Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 It seems like Harris has given at least several people an additional $10k, as long as you provide good leverage.
