I think that for non-Michigan residents, it's $17,825 for a full year? (At least, that's what I hope.)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is per semester (note that it lists 9+ hrs, which is a per semester load).

I believe Michigan's academic calendar is in trimesters. I'm not sure how it's different than semesters (My undergrad was in quarters). Can somebody explain?

As far as tuition goes, my GSPP letter told me I could probably get in state tuition for my 2nd year if I go there, so I would pay my first year at out of state tuition rates and my second year at in state tuition rates, reducing the cost by quite a bit. I'm guessing Michigan might do something similar, although I'm not certain. Does anyone know if that's a possibility?

Their FAQ directly says "no" in a lot of words. Search "Can I get in-state residency after my first year?"

Congrats to you and your SO. I think it's awesome that you applied together and that you BOTH earned admittance to very selective grad programs at two schools. You sound like a power couple.

I was also accepted at Ford today (2.9 GPA, liberal arts major, never worked for a public/non-profit org). Wishing the best of luck to those still waiting to hear back. I hope that there will be a second round of admits for you all.

I also have a 2.9x cumulative undergraduate GPA in History (special, I know). Clearly Ford is willing to look at the complete picture. That or they are completely batty and admit students with a mediocre academic record on purpose.

The Public Policy school follows a semester schedule. I believe the business school follows quarters. It may be useful to double check that.

I am working with Americorps now and thought I was a lock with a 710 Q, 680 V, 5.0 and a 3.97 GPA, but did not hear today!

Yeah, i'm worried too. I posted good numbers and am several years removed from undergrad, but the majority of my WE is not public sector related aside from one consulting assignment... so i'm figuring that may do me in.

1. The department, in this case the Ford school, decides that they want to admit you.
2. The department forwards your application, materials and all, to the Rackham Graduate School Admissions Office.
3. Rackham evaluates you to make sure you meet all of the minimum qualifications (certain GPA, et al) and that your application is complete.
4. In the case that your application is not complete, Rackham will pursue the missing documents.
5. Once Rackham has finished the evaluation and has signified that your application is complete and acceptable then you will be fully admitted.

Sound about right? I'm willing to be wrong on this one.

Exactly right but, thankfully for those of us with low GPAs, there is no minimum GPA requirement for Rackham. Rackham is only going to verify you received your degree, request your official transcripts, verify your test score reports and, in rare cases, qualify your admission with certain academic requirements for your first term or year.

There is a new link for me that says "View Admissions status." Back in mid-January, I noticed that it said my transcript hadn't been received, so I emailed Admissions to ask them about it. They updated it the next day.

I am still waiting for a decision. And I don't hear any rejection yet. So It seems that Umich sent acceptances first.

I got an email yesterday saying I was admitted. After you posted asking about wolverine, I logged into see if anything changed.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I've all but decided on another school but I'd like to get an answer from Michigan "just in case" they decide to throw loads of money at me. But it appears that won't be the case....congrats!
