Hello! So I have seen others post about this in the past, but I'm still a little fuzzy on the topic. You can see the schools I applied to in my signature, I was accepted to one and waitlisted to 4. I can accept the offer while still waiting on the waitlists until after April 15th. If I get into one of my waitlist options and decide to change I can withdraw from the one I was accepted to? I know if that happens I would lose a deposit, but that's alright. Is the information I have correct? Am I missing anything?

Also good luck to everyone on the waitlists!

From what I've gathered from other posts/forums, you should be able to put down a deposit for the school you were accepted to so you can secure that spot while you wait for the other schools to notify you about the waitlist decision. You should be able to withdraw by emailing admissions (or if there's a student portal, perhaps there's a withdrawal option). People can get accepted off the waitlist as last as August because there may be a student who withdraws their acceptance because they changed their mind about the school (either they were accepted off a waitlist from a school they were waiting for or they decided not to pursue the degree at all). If you're okay with losing the deposit, then I absolutely recommend putting the deposit down for EWU and waiting to see if you get another offer. :) Best of luck!

I've heard people say it's bad etiquette, but honestly I think etiquette can only go so far in this competitive environment (I get you California OP!). Do what you need to do to secure yourself a good spot! :)

Thank you both! That's what I was thinking, but I just wanted a little confirmation from others. It's a game and everyone is playing it just to try and find the best fit for them, I understand. Good luck to you both!!
