nwslp Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Where are you from and did you learn to pronounce Wernicke with a v or w? Just curious In my linguistics program it was a strong "v" !
bibliophile222 Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 One of the more unusual questions I've seen on this forum--I like it! I'm from New England (a few different states) and say it with a v. I did my linguistics program online, so I don't actually remember if/when I heard anyone else say it. I just based it on my knowledge of German pronunciation. My prereqs were also online, but there were video lectures, and I believe my neuro professor also said it with a v.
SLaurP Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 Just learned it in Speech Structures online class through Emerson in Boston.... "V".
samiamslp Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 W in NY and NJ. I've actually never heard anyone say it with a V.
Southwestspeechie Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 V- from Maryland, but they pronounce it with a W in Arizona
