OmniscienceQuest Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I'm interested in the Modern Thought and Literature program at Stanford and am wondering if there are other, similar interdisciplinary programs at other universities? With a strong Literature focus but lots of room to branch into cognitive science, history, law, or any other direction on a highly individualized basis.
WildeThing Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Santa Cruz has History of Consciousness, Berkeley has Rhetoric, San Diego has Literature. If you do a search in this forum you will probably find them, as others have asked this in the past. havemybloodchild 1
madandmoonly Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Might want to check out Rice's English department as well. Very interdisciplinary with many people working on non-traditional projects; lots of science.
Warelin Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Washington University in St. Louis might be worth a look into:Research Interests: https://english.wustl.edu/browse Graduate Certificates: https://english.wustl.edu/phd-program#primary
Nesta415 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Check out Duke's Literature program. It was my top choice as somebody wanting to do a grad program in Comparative Literature but wasn't quite up to most programs' language requirements (you do still need proficiency in two languages other than English-- one upon admission with a clear plan for acquisition of a second during your studies. Better than two upon admission with plans for a third for a lot of comp lit programs).
UndergradDad Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Also look at John's Hopkins Comparative Thought and Literature. Oh and also I think SUNY Binghamton has something along these lines as well.
