RTIAssessmentsandIEPsOhmy
Hi all! I am still 2 1/2 years out from applying for my PhD. However, I am trying to do some early searches for school psychology PhD programs that are doing research in my area of interest. It has been an arduous process of looking at the APA website and going to each schools page, individually clicking each professor and reading their bio to locate their research interests. Does anyone have a system that is more efficient? I would love any advice or systems that has worked at locating programs that fit your research interest. PsychPhdBound
You're better off searching Google Scholar for articles that relate to your area of interest and then looking at who the authors are. Then you can visit their faculty profiles, instead of just searching through entire departments. PianoPsych
Yeah, I found this process arduous as well. This site (http://psychgradsearch.wikidot.com/phd) may be helpful- I'm not sure if there are School Psych specific programs there though. Another thing I've found helpful is looking up the collaborators of people I was interested in working with. Sometimes they are listed on professors' websites, other times they are co-authors. I've heard some people suggest sending an email to profs to introduce yourself and your interests and asking them to recommend anyone else you could be working with--unfortunately I haven't had much success with this approach. Good luck! 1|]010ls10o and RTIAssessmentsandIEPsOhmy
