moodyfoodie Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Columbia has extended their deadline till the 31st of March for MS programs.. Same thing happened last year no?
ORLOGIC Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 did anyone hear anything from PhD in OR@NCSU about funding (assistantship , fellowship etc.) ? I got an offer from ISE@NCSU in last month (Feb) without mentioning about funding. And recently, they informed me that I got 1yr fellowship. I think that you meant OR@NCSU which is different department from ISE@NCSU though...
adidwani Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I was accepted by Stanford MS&E for their Masters program. No funding though Anyone else facing the same dilemma?

liao Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) Does anyone have any news from Michigan (ann arbor)? I didn't see any acceptance from them in this website and it seems that their decision is very delaying this year. Does it mean there is some problem with then this year or something else? Anyone knows some inside information from them? Edited March 18, 2011 by liao
RoboTicks Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Did any of the admitted students hear about funding from IEOR Berkeley?
shorsh Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) Did any of the admitted students hear about funding from IEOR Berkeley? hey has anyone applied to or heard from University of British Columbia (UBC) Master in Management in Operations Research program? Edited March 19, 2011 by shorsh
IEOR_ALB Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Does anyone have any news from Michigan (ann arbor)? I didn't see any acceptance from them in this website and it seems that their decision is very delaying this year. Does it mean there is some problem with then this year or something else? Anyone knows some inside information from them? I'm also wondering about this. I visited for recruitment weekend, but haven't heard anything from them since (They invited ~22 of us up there, but said only 10-15 are admitted each year.) Maybe I'm on some sort of unofficial waiting list? All the other schools notified me over a month ago about admission and funding, so UM is frustrating me. I'm getting close to rejecting them even before they let me know.
boilOR Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 you got both of them? (personally, ORFE@Princeton. I have already been rejected by them...) Yeah I got offers from both, but I'm not sure where to go. Princeton Why do you guys say Princeton? Anyone else know anything about the two schools?
veryeva Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Yeah I got offers from both, but I'm not sure where to go. Why do you guys say Princeton? Anyone else know anything about the two schools? well if you could get offers from these two schools, then I guess you are a very strong applicant. To be honest, I think you have already known pretty much about what you wanna do and which one would be better for your future.

I was also invited to the recruitment but didn't make it (since I am an international student). I emailed Matt but got nothing useful... It seems like you are domestic, are you going to call them before making the final decision? Good luck to all~
OR_Dan Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) @RoboTicks: About Berkeley funding, I understand that department funding decisions have been made and people awarded funding have been notified. (apparently we were not included). University Fellowships are notified by April 1st. On another topic: Has anyone heard back from Penn State IE? particularly PhD applicants? Is it all over or is there any hope to get minimal support to be able to attend? Edited March 21, 2011 by RoboTicks
OR_Dan Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 This very sad that we did not hear from the dept. Is it all over or is there any hope to get minimal support to be able to attend? I doubt it. But you can write Anayancy Paz in the IEOR department for your specific case. Best of luck.

OR_Dan Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Thanks. I believe that you are going to Gatech ISYE since no funding at UCB. Is it? That looks like the decision right now, indeed.
taeng Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hi everyone. I just got a decision letter from UMich, and I'm practically done now. I got rejected by Stanford and UCB (MS for every program) And UMich, Columbia, Texas A&M, U of Washington offered me admissions. My profile is way up there, so u can take a look if u want. Now, i'm choosing between Columbia MSOR and UMich MSE. Considering they are both expensive degrees, i am more focusing on thr job placement of graduate students. If anybody has information or anything to tell me, please enlighten me. Thanks
shraddha_rb Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I have received an admit from Columbia MS OR. Any idea about the job scenario there? I have done BE in computer engineering!
ORStudent Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Has anyone heard anything back from USC Viterbi?
