I'm working on premodern Chinese literature, and I am also very much interested in interaction with Japan and Korea too! Happy to meet another premodernist here!

Nice to meet you here! I also work on premodern Chinese literature.

Did anyone hear back from Yale? I think they are kind of behind the schedule this year...

What's everyone's area of study/what are ya'll interested in? :)  I'm interested in Premodern Jap Lit, specifically Edo period popular culture and the use of women's bodies in horror/supernatural genre. Would love to hear where everyone's coming from!

Your research interests sound super interesting! I saw there is a Japanese monsters class is being offered this semester at Harvard. Did you get an offer from the MA or PhD program from Harvard?

Thank you! ❤️ And yes, I'm looking forward to taking it! I did get an offer for PhD from Harvard.

has anyone heard anything from EALC at Harvard?

As far as EALC goes: I heard unofficially from my POI that I got in last week. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences finalized all admission recommendations formally yesterday, so they will be sending out official letters some time between today and next week. It seems like interviews weren't required, so applicants may hear first from the official letter rather than POI. Idk how HEAL is going.

Is it official from Harvard? I have seen some results (waitlist and admitted via website). But mine is quite.. If you don't mind, can you share your status?

My portal updated yesterday at 5 pm EST ? so I think its official now.

First of all, many congratulations! I applied to HEAL. I assume that you apply to EALC with Japanese Literature major following your information. So, I don't know whether it might be the reason of delay..

From what I understand, both HEAL and EALC were finalized yesterday, so idk why it may not be updated yet . You could wait a bit longer or reach out to department to figure out the deal?

I also haven't heard from Harvard yet. I applied to EALC. Perhaps they send rejections after acceptances? :(

Yes that is how it worked last year for RSEA. Friends heard good news, I heard bad news after them.
