Yes, but without actually filling out the University's application / department application.

I have yet to hear from UCSB as well, though I thought they had their interview weekend ages ago...since I wasn't invited to that I was expecting a rejection in the wave of application updates last week...but still nada. They were also my first application deadline (geeze, like a lifetime ago!). Hmm. Anyone with more insight/plausible theories on this? What's your deal, Santa B!

Not sure if that is really going to help anyone, though, as my chances of being offered admissions into the PhD program were looking bleak. I am debating about pulling my name from one other school at which I am still in the running. Don't won't to mention names until it's official, though. (I am going to give myself until Monday to make a final decision, so I will let you all know then.)

Congrats on the waitlist though!! Thanks! My POI told me this (I actually was in contact with two different professors that share a lab). I emailed them (it wasn't too awkward because we've been in contact a LOT), and they responded back. BUT, I accepted my offer to Kentucky this past Friday. I'm not sure who all that will help but I already told all other schools as soon as I accepted. Good luck to everyone and if you need anything PM me, because I haven't been checking this forum as religiously anymore!
