anybody know anything about when texas will announce decisions? i remember seeing one acceptance on here, but...?

yes, it was me who put Austin's message here. The advisor said preliminary decisions have been made last week, but official notifications wll be announced in a few weeks. ''A few''...so guys, we have to be patient. Good luck to everyone.

Same here. Only Viagra and XXXXX enhancement pills. I almost think my public image on the internet is synonymous with their targeted consumer

Wait, how come you all get sex-related ads on gmail?

All I get are some random news from CNN, Discovery News and BBC Sport, and occasionally an offer of an online MBA from the University of Money.

Had an email from Columbia saying that it'll be 2/3 weeks before admissions decisions are finalised. I assume this can only mean that the offers thus far are the top choices and those who are still waiting to hear are going to be in limbo a little longer.

So I have talked to a number of very reliable sources in the Columbia program and my understanding is that all acceptances and waitlists have been sent out. They are hoping to move on the waaitlist in the next few weeks, but unfortunately if we haven't heard anything then it's probably for the worst. If it's any consolation, I was told that only 3% of applicants were admitted or waitlisted so it was definitely one of the more challenging admits this year.

I've been told by my PA that all acceptances and waitlists for Columbia are out as well. They're notorious for late rejections, but if you haven't heard, safe to say you're not in.

Fabulous.

Just got rejected from Berkeley. Not surprised, since it was not a great fit. Actually somewhat relieved, since it has always been my dream graduate school and since it getting in might have caused me to let go of more sensible offers.

Received A funded (Canadian) Masters acceptance in early British Atlantic history, but I can't help but hope for that phD! Come on already, Virginia, Michigan, Et al. !

Three acceptance entries on the results page from Rutgers. Looks like they've made at least some decisions.

Anyone have any word there on if they're done or if they do rejection letters after the fact? Just sort of hanging in the breeze here.

Same question here. I checked the website, and it still says "no decision." This is not helping me grade tests for my US II undergrad class. At all.

early modern Europe, Jewish-Christian interaction. Not sure if I'm accepted as part of the European or Jewish subfield.

I probably did not get accepted then. I'm early modern too (although not Jewish subfield, so I'll hold out hope for a couple of days).

I called Rutgers today. They are finalizing the decisions over the next day or two, so notices will go out "very soon".

Thought we'd have to wait longer for Rutgers.

They're one of my top choices. I guess I'll cross my fingers over the weekend.

Got an in-person confirmation of acceptance tonight at a department function. I'll take a fist-bump over a letter any day! (The letter's in the mail though!) SO RELIEVED. I'm sending good vibes out to all of you who are still waiting!

Congratulations! What wonderful news!

And congratulations to historyhopeful too!

Does anyone else think that the recent turmoil in Wisconsin will hold up further results? Because I really doubt they are done, and I'm sure plenty of staff/faculty/students are protesting like whoa and damn.

I must have missed it - What's going on at Wisconsin?

Over 10,000 people have protested (and schools have shut down) a recent move by the governor/Republican-controlled legislature to end collective bargaining for public sector employees, require unions to re-certify annually, allow state workers to opt out of paying union dues, require employees to double their health insurance premiums, mandated a higher percentage of employee salaries to retirement, and, finally, the right to fire employees who organize in an effort to stop work or who strike for three days or more.

And he has repeatedly threatened to call the National Guard on people who protest.

Congrats to all so far!

(and for the record, I slept well in the last two nights.)
