I got accepted yesterday to the EdD program at Indiana Univ. Bloomington for Instructional Systems Technology. I am interested in looking at how art can work as communication medium to help those with low literacy levels improve their health outcomes. They have the opportunity to receive a minor in art education which I am excited about. Still crossing my fingers for Hopkins tho. @SoCalGurl, mega congratulations! That is some pretty cool research. I love the link to public health! Sounds like you can do some pretty cool things at both schools. What I like about JHU is the dossier approach; we can be more creative with the final product, and to me, that is pretty exciting. I like the idea of being able to do something artistic/non-traditional. Hopefully, we will hear something from JHU this week. Fingers crossed, we both get in (with a decent scholarship)!

I got an email from JHU that decisions will be released early next week. So it may be a few more days, but we should hear by next Wednesday.

MistyHills Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Hi all, I've resisted posting on the forums until now, but I really need to vent my frustrations! This is my second attempt at applying to grad school for PhDs, I'm a British student applying to US and Canadian universities. Masters GPA 3.92 from a good university, 320 overall on the GRE (my verbal and writing scores are significantly higher than my quant, but I have mitigating specific learning difficulties), and tonnes of work experience in education and with disabled people (my area of interest is neurodiversity, social justice, and philosophy). Last year I was rejected after interview from Boston University, and rejected outright from Harvard and NYU. TC offered me a place on the MEd, but only £8k of funding (I should point out, I am not well off). This year I thought I'd done everything right. I got in contact with academics early, I had some amazingly positive and interesting conversations, and I wrote what other people told me were really good applications. It has, again, not gone well. Syracuse - SpEd: Had the most positive conversations with this school, only to find out after applying they're not taking new grad students this year. UW-Madison - SpEd: Rejected after 20 minute interview. UIC - Disability Studies: Rejected Toronto - Social Justice Education: Not formally rejected, but I have evidence all offers have gone out. UGA - Educational Theory and Practice - It's said "Awaiting Decision" since January with no other communication, so... It's just so frustrating because I am in my early 30s, so I really don't have forever to keep applying. Guess I should accept it will probably never happen?

They sent an email blast on March 13th at 5:09 PM. So, a couple of hours after you posted. I have a feeling we will find out on Friday. They said it in my email early this week, but the email blast says it was this week, and there has been silence.

I was rejected, so I am taking a year to see if I will go back. I didn't love my safety school, so I went ahead and told them I would not attend. My other four schools were all rejections. I have been going to school non-stop for the last 11 years, so I am ready for a break. I wish you luck in your final decision. Congrats to everyone else who got into Hopkins.
