Hermione Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Anyone know if UNC at Chapel Hill has sent any admits or rejections yet? I haven't seen anything posted about them yet. Also, does anyone know how many they are admitting this year?
woolfie Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I haven't seen anything or heard anything from them. I think that they recently got rid of an MA program, or cut down their program like a lot of schools, and I'm assuming its the old 12-15 admits. But this is just my speculation.
lolopixie Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Pure speculation based off the news report I just saw 2 minutes ago that they will be cutting slot numbers...the board voted yesterday to increase tuition. Both undergrad and grad. Grad instate tuition is going up $658 and out of state up $739. To help their budget crisis. I can't imagine this will increase spots for phd w funding this year. Again, just speculation. I didn't apply there bc I decided it was time to spread my wings and leave nc. Edited February 11, 2011 by lolopixie
TC3 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Last year, it seems, UNC notified admits via email the last week of January, though there's also an outlier 11 Feb 2010 notification posted. Who knows. Maybe it wasn't as bureaucratically efficient (yes, I know, oxymoron) this year. Also noteworthy is that only 6 admits (counting those accepted off the wait list) posted results for the 2010 cycle. woolfie and Pamphilia 1 1
EliotsProtege Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 There were several electronic submission errors ... my application suffered this fate. And I had to do a lot to get everything to the right people; I even emailed today making sure my application was being evaluated and complete in their system. They said it was currently being evaluated. So ... keep waiting I guess.

Try not to worry too much because the UNC website says that they have rolling admissions, and I'd imagine that there'd be far more than two acceptances if they were done making offers. The visiting weekend for admitted students is the last weekend in March, and there's plenty of time between now and then. Good luck! woolfie 1

I'm dying here... Not that this is helpful, but when I emailed to change my address, I was told we'd be notified in "the coming weeks." That was last Monday. I'm dying with you.
