I applied for MIA, and still haven't heard back from SIPA either... although people appear to have been receiving their decision for the last two days now... :S can someone enlighten me as to what this "pile" system is?? thanks...

More insight from Matt Clemons regarding how they review applications, which I refered to earlier, and which might help us understand why we haven't heard back yet: http://blogs.cuit.co...piles-of-files/

"Pile #1 is representative of applications where there is unanimous agreement among Committee members. I would say that about 60-65% of applications fall into this group.

Pile #2 represents those where the reviewers of the file did not entirely agree and they have asked for additional review by a Senior Member of the Admissions Committee prior to making a final decision. Approximately 20-25% of applications fall into this category.

Pile #3 represents those who the readers believe should be considered for first year fellowship awards – approximately 15-20%. These files take longer to process because they have to go through additional rounds of meetings by the Fellowship Committee."

For those who are still waiting, has anyone applied to the International Fellows Program? As far as I understood, the program is open to all graduate students at Columbia University. As there will be more applicants to the program, maybe that’s why we have to wait longer… It’s just an idea... This waiting is killing me… :-(

Maybe those who have already been admitted or rejected can tell us if they applied to the IFP as well…

I've already heard from SIPA and I didn't apply to IFP

9:00am in New York and there seem to have been no results received since 10:50am yesterday, judging from the results survey and the forum. I really hope at least a handful of us can hear back before the weekend.

I hope so too.I want to be able to enjoy the weekend, and not think about schools again!

Didn't apply to the IFP and have not yet heard. Assuming I get in and attend I was thinking about applying while in school.

I am also waiting for the result. Could anyone tell me what is the "results survey"? Thx!

There's a link at the top of the page for it. When people get their results from schools, they can report it in the survey, and you can search the survey for results from a particular school or program.

For those wondering about whether any of those who have already received decisions were IFP applicants... I applied to IFP and heard back from SIPA on the first day of rollout with a general rejection. Good luck!

That's great erry3779! So happy for you. Hoping for a good result for myself and everyone else soon!

Please update the results survey with your result. That is a really great statistical tool since most schools don't release their own statistics.

Congrats! Did you receive any email as well or did you just check yourself?

Congrats erry3779! Also... I did not apply for IFP, and still haven't heard... womp womp. Checking email and the applyyourself obsessively doesn't help.

If only there was a method to the madness. It seems like decisions can come at any time.

Plus the trickle from MSFS makes the whole thing excruciating. It's tough to even pretend to be engaged in anything other than fretting.
