If you look at the results board from previous years, it looks like they traditionally don't notify all at the same time. As soon as the Department notifies our office of the decision, you will receive an email telling you to check your Apply Yourself account." This waiting reminds me of a song I once knew quite well: There's no earthly way of knowing Which direction we are going There's no knowing where we're rowing Or which way the river's flowing Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing So the danger must be growing Are the fires of hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? I suppose there's a chance they might offer me the unfunded masters, but that's not something that would work. I have an MFA instead of an MA, which I suppose could have hurt my apps. It's from an ivy and all, but a critical masters it ain't. I wonder if I will need to go back and apply for a straight MA next year. Sigh. Good luck on your app with Albany! Ahh I am so sorry! Does anyone know if applicants who hold only a BA might be deferred to the MA if not accepted to the PhD? At this point I'd take any sort of admission to any school. I'm in CA now but am from Albany (read--would be living rent free) and I also have received 7 rejections prior to this wait-list (with one other school yet to be heard from).
