cooperstreet Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Also, to the recent Temple admit - did you hear anything about funding? Does anyone on the forum know how Temple handles funding? Thanks!! Thats me. Nope, and nope!
swirled Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Congratulations cooperstreet! cooperstreet 1
crazedandinfused Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Swirled, Did you just get accepted to Temple as well?
sandyvanb Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Regarding Georgetown - I too am waiting to hear something. I noticed the latest rejection said via website but I think that applicant is international? Maybe that's the difference? When I go online, all I can see is my application - that it was submitted successfully and that my LORs were received. Maybe I'm going to the wrong site? That's all I see too. I'll just wait patiently for my rejection to arrive in my mailbox.
cooperstreet Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I'll use this post to thank everyone for their congratulations, and to preemptively thank anyone else for any congratulations given after this post. And to also congratulate everyone that has received acceptances, and to preemptively congratulation anyone who will receive acceptances. And to those that on the verge of despair, I can guarantee you that I've been rejected by more graduate programs then you. It will work out, have hope. Safferz, TMP and Kelkel 3
superrockr1 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Hi all. First time poster here. I was also accepted to Temple for the PhD in American History. I wrote the DGS about funding, and he said they're still trying to figure that out with the College of Liberal Arts. He did indicate that I had reason to be optimistic that I would receive something, however. I was also accepted to the University of South Carolina with five full years of funding/assistantship. Great program if you want to study the U.S. South. Very stoked about that! I was also waitlisted at UNC-Chapel Hill. UNC is my first choice, so I hope I can eventually move up!
wikichic Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Sounds like a good year for you so far rockr! Congrats Still waiting to hear back from any other schools? Or are you all done for now?
Safferz Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Congrats roxelana, superrockr and cooperstreet!!
uhohlemonster Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Congrats Roxelana, Superrockr, and Cooperstreet! Edited February 23, 2012 by uhohlemonster
superrockr1 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Thanks everyone! I'm also waiting to hear back from the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, and the University of Delaware. Are any of ya'll applying to these schools as well, along with UNC, South Carolina, and/or Temple?
swirled Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 C&I - no, I was admitted last week. We PM'd about this. Congrats superrockr1! I also applied at UF, UGA, and USC but haven't heard anything from them yet. Thanks for sharing the info about Temple.
Kelkel Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 UGA takes their damn time with decisions, fyi. Be prepared to wait that out.
New England Nat Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Roxelana, congradulations. If you have any questions about princeton feel free to PM me.
Flux Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 It seems like Florida has already notified the people who made it past the first cut.
kriscarlson Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Results are slow today, indeed! I'm not hopeful about getting in anywhere this cycle (my app needs some refinement), but I don't want to give up prematurely either.... UCLA and UVA dragging out their decisions is not helping me move on to my Plan B! Being stuck in Limbo is awful... Though I'm sure being rejected will feel worse! Ahh- decisions, decisions... Anyway-- here's to wishing all my other fellow applicants a ton of good news this week! We'll get through this cycle yet!
New England Nat Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Don't ask how i know this... The University of MN history department is now making final decisions and will be taking 14 students (down from previous years by half). My source is VERY good.
cooperstreet Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Looks like the georgetown rejections are coming in.
Simple Twist of Fate Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Congrats to those who have received good news. A couple of IU waitlists up on the big board... which surprises me. Hope things turn out well for those individuals.
Toulouse1 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Anyone have the scoop on UW? Still haven't heard a thing!
Kelkel Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Anyone want to claim the BC master's acceptance? Man, I wish they would just tell me what's up so I can cross them off my list because if they're the only MA receiving financial aid then I'm definitely not hoping for anything.
Vorenus Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I'm one of the IU waitlists. Sorta weird that they waited this long to finally email me....I hope they don't make me wait until April 14th to reject me like they did last year when I was on their waitlist.
Abbott Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Don't ask how i know this... The University of MN history department is now making final decisions and will be taking 14 students (down from previous years by half). My source is VERY good. University of Minnesota?
twarod Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 clicked on the decision link at the bottom of my status page and.... IT'S BLANK! Great....
