Jwnich1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 OMG. Thank you so much. You two have created a paradox! When RWBG went back in time and erased his post after you'd quoted it, you opened a rift in space-time. That or I need less coffee, less stress and more sleep.... Same difference really.
whirlibird Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Uh oh, RWBG (R Dubs in my book...always...)...looks like Megan has immortalized what you sought to erase....OH THE INTERNET!
Max Power Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Edit: I decided after all the shennanigans with anonymity lately, I don't want a record of my attempts to be humorous on the internet. Post rescinded! just change your name, i've been thinking about cranking up my anonymity around these parts as well

RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 OMG. Thank you so much. Ah, what the hell. Just run with it.
RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) just change your name, i've been thinking about cranking up my anonymity around these parts as well Two things: (1) Gradcafe keeps a public record of name changes. (2) My username actually has nothing to do with my actual name. However, when I post an SoP later, I worry about things being tracked back to me. Probably just being paranoid. Megan Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I'll take the quoted part down if you want, but let me say, I think it would be a real shame. I will do it if you like, though. Or requote it without your name attached.
Max Power Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 damn. time to register a new account or 3
Jwnich1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Our minds just linked. Our powers combined... Tell me this ends with William Shattner getting sucked into a ribbon of semi-intelligent cracking energy .... Also anyone see the purported calls from POI's at UCB listed on the survey? Of course they popped up before it was 7 AM in Cali.... Edited February 21, 2012 by Jwnich1

grace246 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) I just called Northwestern, she said they'd have all the decisions out by the end of the week. I asked if it'd be on the website, and she said "you'll get an email". This is probably reading too much into that, but this hopefully means it's not an immediate rejection, since the people on Saturday didn't get an email. Edited February 21, 2012 by grace246
RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 New offering: Rochester-style pickup line. Let x be the amount of sexual intercourse. Recall that both our utility functions are increasing in x?
Jwnich1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 New offering: Rochester-style pickup line. Let x be the amount of sexual intercourse. Recall that both our utility functions are increasing in x? Or at least a nonzero, nontrivial monotonic value?
balderdash Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 My username actually has nothing to do with my actual name. Red, White, and Blue - and Green: a veiled Canadian socialist agenda?
wordshadow Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Our minds just linked. Our powers combined... You're welcome.
RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Red, White, and Blue - and Green: a veiled Canadian socialist agenda? If it were a Canadian thing, the appropriate demarcation would be Red, White - Blue, Green. But these letters could stand for many things. I'm just speculating. Edited February 21, 2012 by RWBG
RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Or at least a nonzero, nontrivial monotonic value? If it makes you feel more comfortable, feel free to restrict the domain of x to x in R+. I'm not yet sure if there's a way to conceptualize negative x.
strangepeace Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hope everyone had a nice weekend; was just looking through the results posted, congrats to everyone who got in! Quick question, is the consensus that Princeton is done with its admits?
chaetzli Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hope everyone had a nice weekend; was just looking through the results posted, congrats to everyone who got in! Quick question, is the consensus that Princeton is done with its admits? the consensus is that Princeton is fake

Quick question, is the consensus that Princeton is done with its admits? I actually think the consensus seems to be that Princeton hasn't admitted anybody yet and that the results on the board are trolls....right?

Megan Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 You're welcome. Thank you for that! I have so much fun showing Captain Planet clips to people who missed it, or to Europeans. Particularly the intro where it introduces all the geographically diverse idealtype characters, and the final song. Oh Captain Planet.
RWBG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Quick question, is the consensus that Princeton is done with its admits? I think the consensus is that absent a claim here, people are cautiously optimistic that they haven't started. Who knows though? Predicting this stuff is futile, and is likely to slowly drive one into madness, until they eventually start writing political science pickup lines and posting them on a message board on the internet.

I even played CP with friends
