Martin Chamorro Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks for sharing psychedelic and almanza1. I still haven't received an email. Guess I'll be waiting until Monday Anyone else still waiting?
grader_ade Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thanks for sharing psychedelic and almanza1. I still haven't received an email. Guess I'll be waiting until Monday Anyone else still waiting? I haven't received an email either (applied for the dissertation fellowship)
Martin Chamorro Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Yep, me too. I'm waiting to hear about the dissertation fellowship as well.
perkinqq Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Yep, still waiting. Now I'm worried that my application didn't get reviewed...
Martin Chamorro Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Yep, still waiting. Now I'm worried that my application didn't get reviewed... Why? Just because you didn't get an email today? If so, I wouldn't worry (in fact, I'm not worried). Last year they spread out the emails over 3 days.
The Dreaded One Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 i didnt get the predoctoral fellowship either. congratulations to those that did!
grader_ade Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Does anyone know if there is any rhyme or reason to their notification procedure? Do they send them by area? Alphabetically? Award type? Some combination of the above?? Does it even mean anything if you haven't been notified yet?
Addictedtocoffee Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Applied for diss fellowship and also have received no notification either. Not really expecting to get one, but can't stand the suspense.
rng Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I applied predoc and got honorable mention. I'm not completely familiar with this fellowship--how hard is it to get HM? It seems they take larger % than NSF.
Anthro14 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Those who are alternates, what discipline are u? How many alternates do we think there are per discipline? Not that I'm biased or anything, but I hope there were anthro people lucky enough to have been awarded other more enticing offers...decline decline!! Haha
perkinqq Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Here is to hoping the rest of the results will be posted tomorrow
Martin Chamorro Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) I've called a couple times today already and nobody answers so their offices may simply be closed for Easter Monday. Has anyone gotten an email today? Edited April 9, 2012 by Martin Chamorro

grader_ade Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 http://academicjobs.wikia.com/wiki/Dissertation_Fellowships_2012-13#Ford_Dissertation_Fellowship Anyone who hasn't received an email needs to contact Ford. Looks like they had no idea that people did not receive emails. Martin Chamorro 1
Martin Chamorro Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 http://academicjobs....tion_Fellowship Anyone who hasn't received an email needs to contact Ford. Looks like they had no idea that people did not receive emails. Thanks for this info grader_ade. I called and just as you said, they seemed to be entirely unaware that a good many of us had not received an email. They said to send an email to infofell@nas.edu to inquire about the status.
Martin Chamorro Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Finally got the email, didn't get the fellowship. Seems everyone who has received it this late is an applicant for the dissertation fellowship and is getting an HM. Sounds a bit fishy but probably just my paranoia.

I'm requesting the feedback from my reviewers!
psychedelic Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 What a horrible oversight by the ford foundation...
psychedelic Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I called yesterday and the secretary said to email infofell@nas.edu xiaoma 1
chemgeek1 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Hello. Im not sure if anyone has this problem. I tried calling the Ford foundation and emailing but haven't received a response. If you get the ford foundation and plan on changing institutions are you allowed to take the funds with you?
Anthro14 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Sigh, I wish alternates didnt have to wait anymore, its so painful! Someone just decline, and then Ford email me right away, haha.
xiaoma Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Did anyone email infofell@nas.edu requesting feedback on your application? Did you receive a (favorable) response?
