Stately Plump Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Wow! I stay away for a few days and miss so much. Congrats to all the acceptees! I'm guessing we haven't had rejections in yet? At least, I haven't heard anything... I've heard nothing as well, which I understand to mean I'm hearing nothing good...
lpbuck09 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Has anyone called to see when they'll finish sending out notifications? I'm counting as a rejection, but I'd still like to know...
TripWillis Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Is it weird that I want my Harvard rejection just so I can see something with Harvard letterhead that's addressed to me? Fiona Thunderpaws, Two Espressos and pelevinfan 3
lpbuck09 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Not weird at all! I got into Harvard Divinity last year and decided not to go. It felt kind of good to turn down Harvard, but I definitely didn't appreciate that acceptance as much as I would after this grueling process! ComeBackZinc 1
pelevinfan Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Is it weird that I want my Harvard rejection just so I can see something with Harvard letterhead that's addressed to me? That is 100% the reason that I still check my mailbox eagerly every afternoon, even though I know I got rejected.
hiphopanonymous Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Does anyone have a rejection in hand from Harvard English yet? Everyone's still waiting for confirmation, right?
Silent_G Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Still waiting. I know it's coming, but don't officially have it yet. Or maybe it isn't coming. Maybe they can't be bothered to send out the rejection letters and they expect us to realize we're not worthy.
Stately Plump Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I don't think rejections have gone out yet. I, too, am looking forward to the Harvard letterhead
girlmostlikely Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I got my rejection letter in the mail today. It assured me that my application got the "full consideration" of faculty members in my field. I wonder if this is a coded way of saying that I made it to the final rounds, or if it's just a formal nicety they say to everyone? Alas, I just accepted the offer of another Ivy League school yesterday, and everyone--even faculty from the other schools that accepted me, it seems--believes that it's the best place for me. lyonessrampant Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 That was in my rejection letter last year. . .I think it is a standard letter, but congrats on your other Ivy offer!
Stately Plump Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 My letter is probably being mailed to my dad's house, so I won't get to see it in person for a bit. I told him we should frame it. Fiona Thunderpaws 1
DorindaAfterThyrsis Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 I imagine the dudes at customs are getting a good chuckle by holding mine up. I probably won't see my official H-jection until June...2013. I heart Canada Post .
hiphopanonymous Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Mine's official, too. I appreciate the paper notice over having to look up my application PIN to log in for a rejection. Which I stopped doing after the first one. Nobody links to good news, turns out.
Pynchonette Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Come on already Harvard, I want my official Harvard stationary with my name on it so I can frame it and love it and treasure it forever
pelevinfan Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Got mine last week! (Been away from the boards in honor of finals). It was exciting for about 30 seconds, then heart-breaking for another 30. Then I stopped caring and resumed going about my life. Who needs you, Harvard?
perrykm2 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 "Come on Penn State, daddy needs a new pair of not-working-for-five-years" Love whoever posted this in the Harvard results. I laughed. Nels 1
royo0210 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Has anyone still not gotten their Harvard letter? I am afraid they have forgotten me and I will be deprived of my Harvard stationary
