I keep looking at the previous year's dates and wondering why there's so little activity right now. Then I fantasize about careers of academic hotness, and realistic alternatives like working at a used bookstore for $8 an hour. The inside of my brain looks like an indie web comic. I was doing fine, but then the 1st passed and it was like the anxiety/stress switch inside of me was turned to maximum capacity. I still haven't heard anything from any of my schools. But it's still really early! Only one of my schools has done any notifying (Ohio State), so I am remaining optimistic. And there is a possibility that 3 of my schools have started notifying (I say "possibility" because it seems way too early for one of them, so I'm suspicious/delusional). I actually had to stop going to the results page altogether, and only allow myself to come to the forum once every day or two, because the waiting was driving me into emotional breakdowns. But I'm living in hope until someone comes along to crack my bubble. Now, of course, I am expecting to get a rejection or acceptance any day now (probably a rejection) even though I know it doesn't really work that way.
