National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC) Fellowship

Did anyone here apply for this fellowship this year? Has anyone heard anything from them yet?

I emailed them several weeks ago and they said:

"Selections are being made now. I hope to notify everyone by the 15th [of April]"

I applied. Note that their awards are not all given out at once, since they're completely determined by the member employers.

That was actually me! I still can't believe it! I'm scared that any minute now, they're gonna email me back and say "We're sorry for the mistake, and we wish you the best in your graduate studies..."

Hey - does anyone know how competitive this fellowship is, and what they look for compared with NSF?

Also, is Lawrence Livermore National Lab listed under Sandia Natl. Labs/CA - Livermore, CA?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to revive this thread and see who had applied this year to NPSC and if anyone has heard yet?

I applied this year, as well, and also haven't heard back. Good to know I'm not the only one, at least.

I called them today. They said that they had already handed out some notifications and that they are still in the process of evaluating and sending out offers. The woman advised me that if i did not hear from them by the end of next week (which involves an email and a telephone call) to assume that I did not receive it. She also said that NPSC is switching over to a new system and that in the mean time it is important to check their website for available updates. As of now, there are none. 

 

So have you any of you heard? If so, congrats! Otherwise, looks like we're still in limbo for now...

Anyone apply this year? I just got my bad news from NSF and NDSEG and am not looking forward to waiting up to a month to hear from NPSC!

Also, does anyone have any information about the number of awards vs. number of applicants, whether they tend to call or email results first, when they've released results last year, etc.?  There seems to be very little information about this fellowship floating around   Any info would be much appreciated!

I also applied. Information seems very limited. All I know is that they'll announce sometime in April...probably.

Good luck with your application! I called them today and was told notifications are going out now and should all be out by the end of next week.

I applied for this and haven't heard anything.

I don't understand how these fellowships can't send emails out to everyone at once like NDSEG/NSF seem to do. :/

I'm really surprised that they said everything would be sent out by today, but I've heard nothing.  Anyone else heard anything?
