Body Politics Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'm at Warner Pacific College, a small regional liberal arts school. We aren't well known either, but the professors in my major/minor fields are excellent. Are you a Church of Christ guy? A few of us lurking these boards are students at Emmanuel in the Christian Church stream of the tradition.
Josh J. Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I am in FG, religioustiger. I grew up out here, moved away for quite a while, and am now back until grad school. I love Warner Pac, great people there. Body Politics, I am indeed a Church of Christ guy, in the progressive tradition. I'm interested in how stone-campbell history, theology and ethics come together. I've heard good things about ESR/ECS. Studying with Paul Blowers?
Body Politics Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Nope, but HazelMotes (on these boards) is. I am a NT guy, so Ramsaran is my main squeeze.
tnbcherie Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Hey Everyone! I applied to PTS and was hoping if anyone who has applied and heard back could tell me how long it took to get a response back? Went to Fordham Undergrad and also considering doing a MA there. Stay safe in the storm Northeasters

Stay safe in the storm Northeasters Hey, once all my materials were in (all letters, transcripts, etc) I found out in about a week and a half. Best of luck.
Seatbelt Blue Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I got my BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University, and did a year of undergrad-level seminary at St. John's University in Queens.
Seatbelt Blue Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I also finally got my official BC interview invitation yesterday. I had been informally informed a bit back it was happening, but now I've got a scheduled time. sacklunch and Therewillbeluke 2
tnbcherie Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hey, once all my materials were in (all letters, transcripts, etc) I found out in about a week and a half. Best of luck. Thanks! And congrats...Will you be attending? Did you hear via phone call...email or constant checking on the website like I've been doing?
Therewillbeluke Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks! And congrats...Will you be attending? Did you hear via phone call...email or constant checking on the website like I've been doing? I'd love to attend, but I am not sure. I haven't heard from any other schools so I cannot really make an informed decision at this point; PTS is a top contender nonetheless. I heard via email.

I haven't heard from any other schools so I cannot really make an informed decision at this point; PTS is a top contender nonetheless. I heard via email. Same here (re: PTS). Didn't take long either. Just submitted all Fin Aid info to Yale last week, so I'm crossing my fingers for a strong package (PTS' aid is awesome). So far it looks like it'll be New Jersey for me... thought no word from Duke yet. I've been checking my e-mail every 30 minutes. :I

I'm in the same boat with financial aid. Yale is probably my top, but it'll probably come down to aid (or whether I get into Notre Dame's fully funded MTS!)
unacclimated Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Notre Dame would be a great school. I'd love to take a class with Stephen Gersh. Edited February 11, 2013 by unacclimated

Therewillbeluke Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Thanks! Were you at the Fall Open House by any chance?? No, I was not.
Jcosta Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I wasn't either. Would've loved to go but couldn't manage it. Did you get into PTS? If so congrats. I'm in the same boat with financial aid. Josh J. Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Where are the Vanderbilt results? I've been wondering the same. Starting to think what we saw was a fluke or not on the up-and-up.
DyingTrades Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Granting some kind of grace period for the blizzard closing most offices on Friday, given that we know someone heard two Fridays ago from Yale, does it *mean* something if you're not notified by the end of today? (That is, if you applied priority deadline?) Am starting to feel I've been wait-listed or worse.
unacclimated Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I was wondering the same about the priority app for yale, apparently one of the people who listed an acceptance had a 3.7 gpa. there must have been something particularly special about the application I suppose

Undergrad GPA: 3.8 Still waiting for info on fin aid.
unacclimated Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 congratulations jcosta, the one i was looking at was the 3.9 gpa. I hate that you can't edit these posts I didnt apply until feb 8, so I'll likely be one of the very last people to hear anything. i also have a recommender who is still awhol, my yds app is a train wreck at this point.
