awright228 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 So jealous bc I have so much waiting to do. CONGRATS! =)
Inspired V Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Congratulations!!! I lived in Colorado for a year and absolutely loved it. The program also looks great, I'm sure you'll have an all-around great experience!
callyw22 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Congratulations!!! Hopefully I will be joining you I recently applied to 5 programs--debating whether I should complete my application to UConn or not-- and I haven't heard back yet. Of course, I haven't been waiting very long-- the earliest application was submitted to U of Pitt on Dec. 31st. But, DU is my top choice. Im in love with their program. Has anyone visited Denver? If so, how was it? Good luck to everyone as they await their decisions and/or are still applying!
paige_elizabeth10 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Congrats! Do you mind sharing how they informed you? I still have a few more weeks I think, I submitted mine on Dec 19th but it wasn't processed till after the new year.
dawn321 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 HI! I initially applied Oct 4 since I wanted to be first (yea, I am nuts like that)...then realized they did not have all my information so it was actually completed on Nov 17th. I was hoping for the 4-6 week waiting period and ended up getting my letter this week (Jan 22). So the wait was about 8 weeks...I do believe it is because of the holidays that were in between my application date. I am super excited, but moving across the country is so nerve wrecking. I am going out to Denver in April to try to find an apartment and hopefully secure my placement. If you check on the website you applied on, it will also update when the decision was made...Good Luck and keep us posted..would love to know someone when I get out there. I am also doing the animal assisted program!
callyw22 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I got in to the University of Denver today!!!!! I literally just checked and my status has been updated!! The wait is over Hang in there for those who are still waiting. Application was processed between Jan 2 & Jan 4th and my application status was updated today! I'll be receiving my email/letter soon I'm sure Yay! Congrats again to the others.
dawn321 Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 congrats Callyw!!! see you in Denver...
Emily H. Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Congratulations!! What exactly did your online status checker say? I have the option to accept/ deny my offer of admission on mine right now!

callyw22 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Thank you guys!! & Emily my status says the same thing: the previous box with "complete/ready to review" is no longer there and I have the option to accept or deny at the bottom-- although the decision technically says "not available." I am so tempted to just click accept, ha, but I am waiting for the letter/email and any notification about scholarship information.

I applied late last year and was waitlisted so I am thrilled to finally be going this year I live in Boulder which is 30 min outside of Denver. If anyone has any questions about Colorado or DU feel free to ask. Congratulations to all! Congrats, that's awesome!! Glad you're going to be in attendance this year I hear Boulder is beautiful as well *widens eyes* haha. Would you happen to know anything about any of the neighborhoods around DU? I'm sure there is a forum here somewhere that I shall soon discover, but thought I'd ask here first. DU is in the University neighborhood if I'm not mistaken.
dawn321 Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Does anyone know what we do next? I am anxious to find a placement and get course schedules, etc. Just wondering if anyone else knows what to do...thanks!

DU is in the University neighborhood if I'm not mistaken. Yes, Boulder is beautiful! I will miss it as I will moving closer to DU. I don't know too much about the neighborhoods around DU. There is lots of student housing right around DU but some great neighborhoods are Baker, Capitol Hill, Washington Park, the Highlands, Park Hill, Uptown. There are so many! Of course there are good areas and the not so great ones.. just depends on what your budget is and your needs such as parking, yard, no roommates, etc. I would highly suggest trying to visit before hand and drive around Denver and DU. There is a light rail on South University and Buchtel which is a great method of transportation. Lakewood and Englewood are other cities near DU that are cheap to live in. Ask to join the facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/2013gsswadmittedstudents/ Check out the webCentral. They just sent out an email today about instructions on how to log in and such. I believe we get more info as far as field placement process and we can register for classes in July (at least last year registration was in July). So excited Edited February 5, 2013 by subie19
Adri.H Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I'm so jealous I applied to 6 programs in California and to WVU and nothing yet:( Most schools in California don't send out their acceptance letters until April or May

RubySohoPDX Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in because I got my acceptance info today I'm super excited, DU is one of my top choices. I'll be checking out the city and campus in a couple weeks since I'm interviewing for DU's PsyD program, it'll be nice to know that if I fall in love but the interview goes horribly DU is still an option. callyw22 1
MSW Fall 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I was also accepted! I applied late last year and was waitlisted so I am thrilled to finally be going this year I live in Boulder which is 30 min outside of Denver. If anyone has any questions about Colorado or DU feel free to ask. Congratulations to all! Hi Subie, I just found out I was Waitlisted at Du for fall 2013 and am wondering if they advised you last year as to your chances of getting off the waitlist? I spoke to the admissions person over the phone and he really didn't give any indication of how my chances are looking. Any advice?
