Rhetoric/Composition 2014 hopefuls

Anyone sitting on a Minnesota RSTC acceptance they plan on turning down? I've done a bit of digging on the site and can't get a good sense of how many applicants have, historically, made it off of the list.

Wish I could help you - I'm in a very similar situation with U of L & funding.

Can't see how many folks traditionally go elsewhere.

This thread has grown so very quiet, comparatively! For what it's worth, I've turned down offers for Purdue and Michigan State, if anyone is waitlisted for the rhetoric PhD at either one.

I am in at BGSU and Central Florida's T&T program. 5 waitlists

Although I was just offered full-funding at Eastern Mich and I'm not sure I could be persauded to (maybe) get in at ASU.

Congrats, BowTies!

Tweed... I seem to remember you inquiring about programs and couples

whatever happened with that?

Haha well, we were being cheeky, but Tweedledumb2 and I are basically the same person and were experiencing imminent separation anxiety, so more of a pair than a couple really. We both got into Southern Illinois, actually, but she's going elsewhere. We're trying to be grown-ups about it now  :P

Rhet people interested in UMN, I'm in the English department, but I'm doing/have done a graduate minor in rhetoric and took courses in writing studies and comm.  If you have questions about rhet here or funding, let me know.  We have many very respected professors and a lot of opportunities, but the rhet/comp field is housed in a fairly new department (Writing Studies) so a lot of people have questions about placement/prestige/etc.
