lostinthetrees22 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Anyone sitting on a Minnesota RSTC acceptance they plan on turning down? I've done a bit of digging on the site and can't get a good sense of how many applicants have, historically, made it off of the list. Edited March 10, 2014 by lostinthetrees22

I've done a bit of digging on the site and can't get a good sense of how many applicants have, historically, made it off of the list. Wish I could help you - I'm in a very similar situation with U of L & funding. Can't see how many folks traditionally go elsewhere.
driftlake Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 This thread has grown so very quiet, comparatively! For what it's worth, I've turned down offers for Purdue and Michigan State, if anyone is waitlisted for the rhetoric PhD at either one.
fortinzio13 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I am so tired of waiting! Waiting on funding info, waitlists and making a freaking decision! I just want to decide and move on to the next step.

bhr Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Anyone have thoughts in ASU's new Tech Comm MS? Just was told to apply, as they have money to launch the new degree.

I'm considering it... Although I was just offered full-funding at Eastern Mich and I'm not sure I could be persauded to (maybe) get in at ASU. rhetoricus aesalon, ComeBackZinc and Tweedledumb2 3

Tweedledumb Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I got into Georgia State over the weekend, so that's exciting. It's good to have choices And congrats BowTies! iExcelAtMicrosoftPuns, ComeBackZinc and Tweedledumb2 3

Tweedledumb Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Tweed... I seem to remember you inquiring about programs and couples whatever happened with that? Haha well, we were being cheeky, but Tweedledumb2 and I are basically the same person and were experiencing imminent separation anxiety, so more of a pair than a couple really. We both got into Southern Illinois, actually, but she's going elsewhere. We're trying to be grown-ups about it now

lyonessrampant Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Rhet people interested in UMN, I'm in the English department, but I'm doing/have done a graduate minor in rhetoric and took courses in writing studies and comm. If you have questions about rhet here or funding, let me know. We have many very respected professors and a lot of opportunities, but the rhet/comp field is housed in a fairly new department (Writing Studies) so a lot of people have questions about placement/prestige/etc.
StillWaitingInBoston Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Anyone heard from CMU or Wayne State yet? They're my last two.
SarahMK Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Is anyone else still waiting on Purdue? I'm very frustrated.
iExcelAtMicrosoftPuns Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Is anyone else still waiting on Purdue? I'm very frustrated. Still waiting too. but what can you do? To be honest - I'm sort of in love with the programs I've been accepted in... I'm not even certain Purdue could sweep me off my feet.
iExcelAtMicrosoftPuns Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Yay! More funding! ComeBackZinc 1
