IronDuke Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 After a long, agonizing process I've decided to attend Harvard studying British Empire and South Asia. I've sent in my forms and turned down the other offer, so it's official.
Louiselab Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I haven't signed yet, but it looks like I shall be a gopher at University of Minnesota.
DrWarpEffect Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I am accepting today in Military history at Texas A & M as a PhD candidate. I received a three year-package (will already have my MA) with $25,000 for the first year. I plan to supplement my history work with classes in the George Bush School of Government and Public Service.
Dirt Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I just accepted a nicely funded offer from the University of Connecticut. My field is modern Europe. I'm thrilled--UConn seems like a great place.
TheMole Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I officially accepted an offer from the University of Delaware yesterday. I was really impressed with the cohort of students, faculty, and overall program when I visited the school a few weeks ago. Yay! UDel is a great place - I strongly considered going there for my M.A. I've never had him in class - after all, I never did go there - but Prof. Jesus Cruz (Spanish History) is an amazing, first-rate scholar and a super-nice guy. Hope you get to work with him in some capacity at some point!

Given my interest in transnational history and empire, I am in the process of planning an independent study for the fall and one of the faculty members recommended Cruz. Perhaps I will contact him.
reallywantcolumbia Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I will be attending the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. God help me with those winds!
Sgt. Pepper Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 University of Minnesota. It was the fried cheese curd that sold me, really.

gomezdm Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Well, I had high hopes for Rutgers but this year just wasn't a good year for apps, or for money, and they were not able to make second round offers. I'm happy enough that I was waitlisted and not rejected, though! Those of you who are going to Rutgers, I'll meet you next semester and I'm looking forward to it. Let me welcome you to the department and tell you that you'll love it, and all of the people in it. As for where I'm going - it's CUNY! I'm excited.
Sonic Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'm attending the University of New Hampshire for Early American history. Yay for last minute decisions (and decisions more generally)!!
