Emerson Interview

Recommended Posts

Emerson was a joy to visit. Every student I spoke to was extremely friendly and down-to-earth, they all seemed like real, generally happy, humans (rather than at BU, where the students seemed extremely stressed and slightly robotic??). The two faculty members I interviewed were similarly very kind and made the interview experience great. Their facilities are nice, less impressive than BU, but they certainly seem to do the job. Far less emphasis on research, more emphasis on clinical experience. Students made lots of references to feeling like the program was tight-knit and family-like, that they supported each other and that the faculty was extremely supportive of them and that their doors were always open to talk to students.

Also, April?! Oh no. That's in so long...!

Check your portals, my decision (acceptance!) was there when I just checked. (I interviewed 2/22) A nice surprise, good luck all.

Thanks so much, just got mine too! :) Are you planning on attending?

Is this the first time you have looked all day? I'm just wondering if they are starting to send them out in the afternoon or if they sent them out in the morning

Yeah, I checked in the morning and didn't have anything. They are probably just doing it in waves.

Yes, this was the first time I checked (around 4:30 EST).

I haven't made a decision k1772, but I did really love the program and the city when I visited, so I'm leaning heavily towards it! I have a good gut feeling about Emerson, so that says something important, I think...

I'm trying to stay positive!

quoting this from the results page:

  • "To the person worried about emerson, I did get accepted in Feb, from what I have read they used a system of modified admissions where they accept "exceptional" applications almost immediately after the deadline, then the rest of the decisions can take 6-8 weeks or something like that. So don't give up hope!"

I got the acceptance on my portal today. So excited!! Emerson is one of my top choices at the moment! If anyone else has more to share about the program if you have visited, that would be so helpful! My current impression is that it's a supportive environment with an emphasis on pediatric populations. This is great for me, since that's where I plan to focus. Would love to hear more insight from prospective or current students. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

I don't see anything on my portal either. :( I've been accepted elsewhere so far so it's not the end of the world, but still disappointing since I thought my interview went really well.

I hope they haven't put all the acceptances online yet. The same thing happened to me with Northeastern, people were getting accepted last Friday and I didn't get my acceptance until Tuesday. I don't get why they all can't come out on the same day! Haha it's nervewracking for us.

I really hope they are doing acceptances in batches because I haven't seen any rejections yet... They should really do it all at the same time!

Don't stress out too much! They definitely do it in batches, it's on their catalogue: "Emerson College follows a modified rolling admission process. Applications are reviewed as they become complete, and decisions are mailed on an ongoing basis. Most applicants will receive a decision six to eight weeks after the application deadline."

Still nothing for me... I'm kind of assuming if I haven't heard by now it's a wait list/rejection... but congratulations to you!!

I just checked my fellowship portal and found my decision there (I was selected for a Presidential Fellowship!) so some of you who have been accepted might have some good news there too!
