Ozymandias Melancholia Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Currently, I've been really into St. Vincent's new album. I've also been revisiting some old Kanye, circa Late Registration, which is almost flawless.
despejado Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 A lot of Dr. Dog, Sea Wolf, The National, Gambino, Franz Ferdinand, and Arctic Monkeys. Makes for an excellent playlist.
bgguitarist Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Lake Street Dive, Colin Hay, lots and lots of Sam Phillips, Jolie Holland, The Be Good Tanyas, Trampled by Turtles, and Holy Ghost Tent Revival (an irreverent mix of bluegrass/punk/ska).
toasterazzi Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Beyonce. Seriously, her newest album has been about 90% of what I've listened to since December lol. The other 10% is all over the place from Zendaya to Katy Perry to Pharrell to Imagine Dragons to Kendrick Lamar to Aloe Blacc to Bastille to The Neighbourhood to Florence + The Machine to Ed Sheeran and so on. Plus, all of my old music that's in regular rotation. For example, as I write this I'm shamelessly cranking C'est La Vie by B*witched Ozymandias Melancholia 1

despejado Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 King Kendrick, indeed. Saw him live in Leeds. One of the best nights of my life.
smurpy2 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 the national, miles davis, and the mountain goats. a strange mixture that mirrors my dramatic mood swings throughout this hellish process: equal parts discouraged, hopeful, and delirious. i'm 0/5, two wait-lists. let's go.
Tweedledumb Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I listen almost exclusively to Comedy Central's XM station, or the 90s channels, because I either need to be laughing or reliving my childhood to function throughout the day.
Between Fields Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 One Direction, because I want to know what makes me beautiful.
Katia_chan Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Haven't had much of a playlist this time around. But during my pre-exam six weeks of panic, I listened to Amanda Palmer's "Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner" on repeat. Gotta love Dresden Dolls for panic and desperation.
DyslexicBibliophile Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 A lot of Dr. Dog, Sea Wolf, The National, Gambino, Franz Ferdinand, and Arctic Monkeys. Makes for an excellent playlist. Holy crap! It has been ages since I listened to Dr. Dog!! I'll have to get reacquainted. For me, I'm revisiting high school, which means a lot of 90's E6 collective. I've also had my Pandora set to its "The Unicorns" station. Study music for me = a mix of Beirut and Yann Tierson.

B-Room is a great album all the way through. Seriously worth a listen. BEIRUT!

school_of_caliban Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 A good friend is on tour with Dr. Dog right now, filming a documentary about them. I'm pretty sure he even played guitar on a song when they were on Austin City Limits.
iExcelAtMicrosoftPuns Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Keb Mo, Wu-tang, Miguel, John Legend, J. Cole (crooked smile), Elton John, and Bueno Vista Social Club Soundtrack my last 7 plays on spotify.
MedievalMadness Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hmmm, a lot of Mary Prankster, Beecake, Glen Hansard, Mumford & Sons, and Fleet Foxes. Bit of Patsy Cline in there too. Oh, and Andrew Bird. Anyone enjoy Mumford & Sons's great Odyssey song? I can't think of what it's called, but it's worth having a listen if you do Classics or Lit.
engphiledu Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Disney songs. Because if grad school doesn't work out, I'm going to Disneyland to get a job as Ariel.
ArthChauc Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Mumford, Mountain Goats, Bon Iver, Shouting Matches, Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Tegan and Sara, Haim, Trampled by Turtles, Walk the Moon, Youth Lagoon, Meatloaf, Elvis, anything '50s and '60s. bgguitarist 1
Strong Flat White Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Tommy Guerrero for mellow and Jaydiohead for up-tempo. For writing: Pandora w/ a Ben Harper-Charlie Musselwhite seed (never fails).
honeychurch Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Lady Day, 'cause I got the wait list blues, y'all. arober6912 1
WendyWonderland Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 "Stronger"and "Try". I need something to make me proud of my rejections and try again.
