Hi all,

I know that OGS is now at the program level, but any idea when we will hear? I assume it will be after CIHR results come out, but any clue how long after?

My departmental deadline was Feb. 15th...

Good luck everyone who applied!

I received an offer of an OGS from Waterloo a few days ago, which I turned down. I didn't apply for it.

The OGS is institution-specific...Carleton will be releasing its competition results mid-April. My deadline was Dec 2, 2013.

I'm waiting on OGS as well but will hear back re: SSHRC before I hear back on the OGS front. Department deadline was the end of January and I've been told results will be released mid-May (such a long wait -_- but since the department had to do decide in Jan/Feb on new grad applicants, March MA SSHRC decisions, and now April/early May OGS, I can see the reasons for the delay)

When is the lastest they will let students know if they got the award or not?

The deadline in my department at U of T (for domestic students) was April 1; that posting said that we'd hear results in June... phooey!

I'm also waiting on SSHRC; hoping for good news on that front in the next few weeks that renders the OGS app moot!

Heard from my department today (I'm at a uni in Ontario) and I was waitlisted for OGS. Fingers are crossed that SSHRC comes through! and I'm not too surprised about not receiving OGS as my department is pretty up front about favouring later year students who are going into the field work phase of their phd and I'm only in first year.

I also got waitlisted for the OGS. Grad studies won't say what my rank is or when waitlistees might find out if their status was upgraded to "successful." I was waitlisted for the OGS in Spring 2012 and was actually awarded the OGS at the end of July.

Annnddd I'm off the waitlist! I now have the breathing room of knowing that I will be receiving OGS if I don't receive SSHRC. I hope you receive similarly positive news Konstantin and that we both receive SSHRC.

Congrats, friend! OGS waitlist will move a lot faster once SSHRC applicants reject their OGSs. Hopefully that will be us rejecting those OGSs soon! haha.

I applied for UOttawa as an international student, and was told the results would be coming out in June as well... These days I am basically sitting on my hands so as not to call them three times a day to follow up on them... Anyone know when exactly in June UOttawa notifies internationals?

I go to McMaster, and I can confirm that (at least some) OGS recipients have been notified.

When are they notified usually? Is it true that OGS is dependent on your NSERC?

I am very curious about my OGS application; last year I was put on the NSERC waitlist but not the OGS waitlist.  I heard murmurings from other faculty members that the OGS committees in my department have been notorious for picking their own students over those who may merit it more.  I got an NSERC this year, so it would be funny if I didn't even get put on the OGS waitlist (and maybe lend creedence to the rumours I heard).

I would like to get an OGS simply to decline and put it on my CV!  NSERC and OGS are independent, so I assume one would hear offers from both funding agencies regardless of their decisions.

Does anyone know if they notify those who got the offer or are waitlisted before the ones who got rejected? Do we assume that we are rejected if we didn't get an e-mail from them?

Yeah I don't even know where I stand atm

At my university, everything is handled through the Graduate Studies office. The financial officer there handles all the winning, waitlist, and rejection packages, so we are at her mercy. I spoke with her today and our results should be in by Friday or early next week. Here's to hoping it's sooner rather than later!

Congrats! You should have plenty of time to register eh, I think it only opens on July 10.

Well my department hasn't updated their course list yet, and they say I have register exactly on that date or they gonna fine me. Not prepared for that...I wish they show the list so I can make a worklist.
