BeatrizBear, don't be sad! Chill!! When I saw your post I raced over to the UT Austin web portal to find my denial also. We have a ways to go before calling failure! Be patient!

Were any of you interviewed before being rejected or did you receive any other contact from the department? I'm sorry, guys. It's still early in the game and im confident that we will all end up where we are meant to be! Thanks for updating!

I noticed that some people had received interviews from Princeton and I had not. I emailed them today and they said I wasn't accepted into their program. If you applied there and have not heard back, you might consider emailing them--and I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I have been rejected to UT Austin and waitlisted at Indiana. I didn't interview with either school nor did they say anything to me about it. The only contact I initiated myself and mostly it was just questions about the application process and the program. I didn't specifically talk to any professors or anything either.

No interview and no contact.

Hugs BeatrizBear! Because we won't be in a cohort together.  :(

Thanks for your support! You know, I lived by USC for eight years. Let me tell you that UCLA is in the nice part of Los Angeles so you're lucky. Downside is that it's such an expensive city. And the public transportation is a joke. But you're near some nice beaches.

¡Felicidades! ¡Enhorabuena!

If I may ask, how did UCLA notify?

Well, that is just wonderful!!!

I just got into the University of Oklahoma MA program, with stipend and tuition remission and all that jazz. It's not as big a name as some of the programs you guys are contending with, but I'm rather pleased with myself all the same.

Btw, I didn't have an interview with the department, nor did I have to submit a voice sample. (This might be of minor import to lmchandl.)

I wonder what my chances are to get off the wait list at Indiana. It looks like a good program so I'd like to go, although I had never heard of Bloomington until I applied to Indiana University. I'm not sure how I'd like living there. A high school buddy moved there so I'd be relieved to just know someone. The director was kind of avoiding answering me where I rank on the waitlist. =/

Is there any new news from Washington University or Pittsburgh? They seem like they send rejections and acceptances at the same time, so I'm worried about not having heard anything from them since people have posted rejections and acceptances from Pittsburgh and an acceptance from Washington U.

Wow, UCLA and Oklahoma. Those are both hard programs to get into. Felicidades.

I was thinking the same about Indiana. I was (and still am) really curious about where I was on the wait list, but they weren't really forthcoming with that info, just like in your case. The director wrote that there was a lot of interest in the program too, maybe more than normal (that's what I read into the comment), but maybe that's just standard wait list notification fare.

Either way, there's still hope.
