Hello everyone,

I have some questions regarding Unicef Talent Group. Perhaps you might know.

Last year I went through a recruitment process for a P3 position in Child Protection. The process was very similar to NETI (written test, interviews, contacting my references), and I got an email informing that I was not selected for the position, however I was assigned to the Talent group of my functional area (3 years, not guarantee an offer, etc etc).

1. Is this the same Talent Group where NETI successful applicants are also placed? For instance, would it be useless/indifferent to participate in an eventual NETI cohort for Child Protection in the future (as I have been informed I am already in a pool)?

2. Do you know people in these Talent Groups (NETI or not) who have been contacted/offered positions? I am always very skeptical of those talent pools. How can we strengthen our chances to be contacted? Directly contact offices; apply for announced vacancies and mention about the placement in talent group?

3. Are there actually positions not advertised for which recruiting managers seek candidates from the pool?

Thank you for the discussion! This forum was very helpful!

Tropicalguy congrats!! That is great news!!

So yes, on my call they explained there are two routes to job placement once in a pool. 1) Country offices proactively look on the central recruitment database where we are flagged as candidates who have been through this rigorous process and can contact us directly 2) You apply for jobs you see that you like the look of quoting that you are in a talent pool and letting your HR person know.

They told me on the call they are aiming to have everyone placed by June, but of course can't confirm this as will depend on HR needs at the time. They market us heavily to offices to try to meet this goal.

Small question: when you mention "letting your HR person know", are you talking about a HR focal point to NETI succesful applicants or the HR person of the particular random position you are applying to? Thanks @TropicalGuy

NETI has its own HR people that administer the program,  they ask you to let them know if you apply to a place by yourself.

I don't know of anyone that has been to successfully apply from NETI to a job. Granted, the sample is super small.

I too was placed in a talent pool and soon afterwards I interviewed and got an offer (previous cohort), so was just passing round. Anyway, if you are placed in a talent group you can contact the NETI HR ( they are your HR now since you are in a NETI talent group). Contact them and let them know you applied for a certain position in your field. They are really nice people, they will do everything in their power to help. you may use this address:  neti@unicef.org. Cheers

 Hi all.

Does anyone have any news about the NETI 2018 selection? I thought it would be launched around the same time as last year.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Does any one here has some information if it is okay to apply for the both positions I.e emergency specialist and operations manager at the same time under neti 2018 or you only allowed to apply for one.

Hi TG .  It's a country office, but I'd rather keep the location under wraps for now. And yes still the P2 position.

Hello, Team , I applied for the position of Human Resource Officer;  NO 2 -UNICEF  in September, 2018, but my status in the system is reading -application outcome only . I am not sure of what is happening

Hi Everyone,

I came across this website while looking for information on the programme.

Would you by any chance have details on the status of the recruitment process?

Many thanks,

C
